They seem to be confused in that article. Yes the ptu is attached to the trans. The article seems to be talking about the rear drive unit with the dual clutch setup (badland only). I know the focus RS guys get rdu overheating during track days from time to time, similar dual clutch setup but...
I would ppf under the flairs where they rest on the painted fender. I had dealer installed fender flairs and took them off immediately. Rubber gasket on the flair just grinding dirt into the paint.
For me, it's pretty straight forward to remove.
-Remove the side bolts (two on each side)
-Remove the 4 bolts that go through the plastic part of the bumper cover. These thread into the skid plate rivnuts through the holes in the bumper just like the stock felt.
-Loosen, and don't remove the...
I would jump all over this but don't want to hassle with getting engine warranty coverage. From what I heard dealers can tell when a rewrite has been performed on an ECU. The ECU keeps track of Lots of the Focus ST/RS guys got flagged for tunes. That additional torque is tempting though.
I had 3 of these nut inserts fail on me. No power tools were used. Two on each side and 2 larger ones at the rear of the plate. The larger ones are fine. They slot into the frame holes and you spread the wires to hold them in place. The issue I had was the bolts did not smoothly thread into the...
Just got mine in. Going on tomorrow. Very well-made. All we need now are panels to replace the felt under the drive and passenger doors. Really the evap side.
Rock crawl just changes the throttle response/trans response, and selects the "4x4" and "rear lock". There is no low-range gear. I agree the BL is more capable but not all that much different when you get down to it. Dual clutch rear, suspension, and software buttons.
My understanding is all the trims are just awd. The only read difference is a dual clutch rear diff and a water cooled vs air cooled power takeoff unit. No real transfer in any bronco sport or a low range.
Been using this stuff for the longest time. Sticks great and works just as good.

Even with gloss black a partial roof is a good idea. That leading edge just above the windshield gets a beating. I always have bugs and gunk all over that area.
Just got ppf installed last week. Some 2300 miles, fortunately no paint chips. I do a lot of highway driving and my old escape was peppered and took a beating. I like the bronco sport so I got some XPEL installed.
Partial hood, partial fenders, partial roof, headlights, a-pillars, body colored...
Solved.....I unplugged the module for a few minutes then plugged it back in. Got in the car and relearned the module. Doors locked then unlocked by themselves which means it's setup. Working fine now.
