There's a little button just below the infotainment screen you can push each time you get in the car to disable the auto start/stop.
Congrats on the new ride!
The verdict is that no, a full size spare does not completely 'fit,' if we're being pedantic.
It leaves an 8th inch gap on the sides and back, and I don't think even a 29" tire will fit completely.
However, it works well enough for my needs.
No problem. With that said, from what I can tell, anything bigger than a 225/65R17 or 225/60R18 is gonna be a tough fit.
I'm not even sure a 235 will fit, height-wise.
I should have my full size (225) tomorrow. I'll have better data then.
The floor diameter is sufficient, but you'll have to use the higher position load floor.
If you've got the option get the tow package. It's gonna cost me $280 for a full size spare for my Base. There's no tow package option for the Base model, and to replicate the spare and hitch (even without...
When I measure the diameter of the spare compartment on my base it's roughly 29". I'd imagine a 235/65 would fit. I stuck with 225/65 for my tires for this reason.
For what it's worth the Badlands/FE comes with a 225 spare even if you buy the 235 upgrade.
My Base model has a 'Key,' but it's just used to turn a rotary switch that operates the same as pushing the start button, so I'd imagine it's the same.
It stays running when you open the door. I haven't ever hit the brake before turning the key with remote start, but I'd presume it behaves like your fusion.
This is because the camera in the windshield is obscured. When the glass is foggy or frosty that camera sends an alert to the computer that it can't see well enough, so it disables Pre-Collision Assist. In our Base models it's the only sensor. In models with Adaptive Cruise there is also a Radar...
I've decided to cancel my 4WP order. I'm gonna drive this car for a year and see if I run into ground clearance issues. In the meantime we'll see whether or not Ford puts any energy into first party modifications and the availability of a'la carte underbody protection from the BL/FE.
It does, actually. Most of what I've seen have been tires with more aggressive edges, this eases my mind. I don't want to add mudflaps because of the drilling involved, and the Wildpeak trails I'm using have a more subdued edge. Between your example and the tire size comparison diagram I think...
For anybody who is running 245s on the factory offset 17s, does the outmost tread extend outside the fender well? I'm not planning on changing my wheels, I really like the base model's, but I don't want to throw gravel all over my own car.
Let me know, please and thank you!
Just to clarify, will 245/65R17 on the factory wheels fit on a Base with the 1" leveling kit? I stuck with 225/65s for my Wildpeak AT trails because I knew I needed better tires before winter hit, but I want to upsize to whatever I can reliably fit with mud and snow and ice in the way without...
