I've recently
had a desire
for a completely analog car
crank windows
5 speed transmission
and a key made of jagged brass

Let it be Known
I checked the engine air filter the other day. After 45,000 miles and a few dusty roads, it is still pristine white with no visible dirt whatsoever. Made me wonder if it's even connected to the intake.
I am a huge fan of the OE Falken Wildpeak AT3's. Quiet, comfortable ride, excellent traction in all conditions including snow. They wore evenly for 40,000 miles with some meat left.
When I replaced them, I tried the new AT4W's in the stock Badlands size. They are a heavier tire with a stiffer...
Just be careful with those rivnuts, if they come loose and spin, you'll have a terrible time ever getting the screw out again (been there done that with an angle grinder). Make sure you install them tight and put plenty of grease on the screw. Some folks also put a little loctite or superglue on...
I think the starter may be a red herring. Stalling/no start due to battery voltage changes (in your case a new battery) is exactly the behavior the recall is meant to address.
^^^This.
I've wanted one for years, but didn't want to pay the Toyota tax and deal with poor MPG's. Now I don't drive as many miles, so the fuel economy isn't as much of an issue. And the resale value comes back to you in the end.
The outgoing generation of 4Runners have a sluggish and...
Man, these recalls are a hassle. My local dealer is an absolute disaster so I use one 30 mins away. Nobody around here does service while you wait, so it burns half a day with all the shuttling back and forth.
I thought they could do these software updates over the air now?
Do you really think the engine needs to be replaced? I think there's a good chance it's fine and you just need to replace the crank seal and flush the oil system.
It's a pretty standard 6x10 V-nose enclosed trailer, maybe 6.5' tall. CA speed limit for towing is 55 and I try to keep it within 5-10 MPH. I expect to get dinged maybe 5 MPG, but not 10. I even fill up with premium, seems like most manufacturers recommend it for towing nowadays.
You should see what I went through to install the factory tow equipment on my 2015 Transit. Got halfway into it and found out the van wasn't built with the main section of harness, and it wasn't a part in the catalog. Had to fabricate my own, and add pins to a connector under the hood. Plus...
My BL is the fastest car I've ever owned. I know that ain't sayin' much, but I grew up with Volvos. Had a couple NA Miatas that cornered on rails but the 0-60 was deep in the 8's.
Thanks. The hexadecimal stuff is too scary for me...not worth it for the risk of having a bricked car. I'll either just learn to push the button or get the nightlight.
This is not true, I have had the motor shut off when towing with trailer connection confirmed on the info screen.
Yesterday I went into Forscan and disabled "BMS/Auto Start Stop" in the dummy (non-hexadecimal) settings. I was happy when the A.S.S didn't activate for the rest of the day, but...
Great idea...My BS is pretty quiet but my Transit 250 has a similar gap and a LOT of wind noise. I'm definitely going to try sealing it.
A quick search found this...
