Do you have any other dealers nearby? Service departments can vary wildly from one dealer to the next. Many of them are flat-out incompetent. Your dealer's backlog may be because their technicians keep quitting.
I had an odd noise in my Transit, and my nearest dealer spent weeks screwing around...
Mine will go weeks without activating, and I don't miss it. Then one day it will start working again, usually after a long drive, but sometimes not. Who knows the rhyme or reason.
I used to get really annoyed and try to remember to turn it off when I start the motor, but I finally gave up and...
The chrome on my window buttons is also peeling and a bit sharp, but not to the point of cutting anyone.
My wife's 2015 VW had a really bad peeling issue on the center console, we both cut our fingers. Shortly afterwards we got a recall notice and they replaced the trim for free.
Looks like the perp is a skier. Did you happen to leave a bottle of Jagermeister in the car?
Seriously though, they were probably trying to hotwire it, although I don't think that's possible anymore without some sophisticated electronics. Do the connectors fit back together?
The good news is that it's not horribly expensive to replace the turbo on the BS. Looks like it's about $1,500 all in. If the engine and transmission keep going to 150k+ I'd say you're doing alright.
I'm at 45,000 miles and have had no problems beyond a noisy park release cable.
There's a button on the key fob to open the rear hatch door...maybe all Bronco Sports don't have this button? Just click and push the door open with your feet.
I didn't even realize that was a thing! VW's and Audi's I've had seem to do this automatically when you start the car, but how it knows what level is when I'm parked on a sloped driveway is a mystery.
I leave my "fog" lights on, the low ones at the bottom of the bumper. They cut off on the...
It's a pretty heavy rack to begin with: Kuat swing-away hitch carrying a North Shore Racks NSR-4...the whole assembly is probably 100 lbs. Then there's another 120 lbs of bikes, and it all hangs way off the back. I should probably just use our Transit van for these adventures, but the MPGs and...
We took a trip to the mountains this weekend with 4 bikes on the hitch mounted rack. On the 2-lane road at night, I got a lot of high beam flashes and I could see that my low-beam cutoff was way too high.
Adjusting the headlights lower would put them too low when the car isn't loaded. I've...
Look up LexisNexis...depending on the state you are registered in and consent you may or may not have knowingly given, they may be reporting your driving habits to your insurance carrier. A few OBD codes aren't too scary but this certainly is.
Unfortunately I think you were just unlucky with this transmission. I'm really glad I got the 2.0L, I see very few powertrain problems posted here compared to the 1.5L.
At least it failed under warranty!
I’ve had my BS 3 years now and I still have to think about which side is volume control. The Ford steering wheel buttons are poorly designed. They all look and feel nearly the same. Most other cars give tactile cues so you can find the most used buttons by feel.
The other frustrating feature...
I have a set of these strap ratchets on my Rhino cross bars. There is 48"+ between the eye bolt on the driver side and the ratchet on the passenger side. Makes carrying plywood or kayaks or darn near anything else a total breeze. I can throw on a few sheets of ply and be rolling in 2 minutes...
