Part no. M1PZ-7855100-BA. I’ve only opened these to take the photo. Looking for Yakima Ridgelines, but these came as a dealer (never) installed option. $200 plus shipping from Michigan.

Perhaps file a claim in small claims court, it is a small claim after all - and that might force the dealer’s hand to fix this. It seems crazy that a dealer would let a $10 part (or $100 part) sour a source of potential maintenance and future car purchase revenue.
Just a head's up, dealers get sued right along side of the manufacturer on lemon law claims, and they both have every incentive to say it's not Ford's fault.
My first car was from the other side of the state and when the aftermarket sunroof (remember those) broke, I went about two months with some thick plastic and very strong tape before I was able to figure out the manufacturer.
I’d wait a bit longer into the warranty period to start worrying about longevity. It seems like a couple things happen with any brand new car, especially in the first model year. I bet we start seeing people with 20 thousand miles, or more, in the next year or so - and their experiences will be...

It took about three weeks and calls/emails to over 75 dealerships to find a Badlands. Quickly drove over 600 miles to get it and took the slow way home. It feels so good to be done looking and not waiting until November … or longer.
Toyota was 100% in the wrong on that, but I never understood how an unintended acceleration event could last for more than a second or two. Every automatic transmission can be shifted into neutral, right? It’s not like jumping just before an out of control elevator smashes into the ground, it’s...
Eco mode on our GMC messes with the AC by overriding the driver selected air speed selection. Saving gas by sweating us out. Maybe see if it does it multiple driving modes.
