  1. Adding illuminated cup holders to a badlands

There should be a 3 pin connector in the console for cup lighting. I don't know if the Bronco Sport wiring works the same as the escape. But here goes: GRN-RED wire is power for ambient lighting YEL-BLU is LIN BUS. This comes from the Body Control Module, LIN 11 bus BLK-BLU is ground Not sure...
  2. Rear Speaker issues

The wire colors to the rear door speakers will vary based on a 8 speaker or 10 speaker system. With 8 speakers the right rear door wire colors are GRN/VIO and GREY. Look in the bundle of wires hanging down for these. The Audio Control module lives behind the center of the dash. On a 10 speaker...
  3. System Off to Save Battery

Our 2021 Badlands did this for 3 YEARS! It will disable auto start/stop (which is a good thing). We ignored the issue and I just put the battery on charge once a month. But recently it completely shut off the dash and that's when I replaced the battery. We have NOT done the BCM update.
  4. Battery Load Testing

I finally replaced the battery in our 2021 Badlands. Whether it was under warranty or not, I don't know. We got it new in April 2021. One morning the Wife backed it out of the garage and the screens went dark and it started to complain about something. I checked the cranking voltage and it was...
  5. Another oil leak two within a year.

Pretty cold would be -12F, +10F not uncommon. But more typically in Winter +20F for an overnight low.
  6. Another oil leak two within a year.

It would be interesting to find out that it "lost oil" from where? The only time I have ever had this happen to me was a very cold morning in a 1983 Mitsubishi 2.6 liter. The high oil pressure on startup pushed out a plug at the back of the engine over the cam shaft.
  7. Turbo failure

There is no mention above if there are any codes set in ECU or other modules. Did Ford service pull the codes?
  8. Battery Load Testing

When you do a battery load test, do you connect the negative lead of the tester to the stud on the inner fender or directly to the battery negative post? So I guess the question is: Do you bypass the battery monitor stuff?
  9. Any BS’s out there that haven’t had any issues??

Our 2021 Badlands bought new. We were on the initial wait list, maybe because of tow hitch, sun roof, etc. Now has almost 10,000 miles. Gets about 25 mpg. It has never been back to the Dealer or in for any service. I do the oil changes. The auto start/stop disabled itself a couple of years ago...
  10. Animal vandalism

Isn't this what "GOAT" modes are all about?
  11. Daytime Running Lights Wire (need help)

Schematics show each headlight having 7 wires. For the left light: Power is White Gnd is Blk/Grn (2) Low is Brn / Blu Turn is Blu / Grn Turn Out is Yel / Grn And the seventh wire is defined as "LIN" Brown. I'm not sure what this is.
  12. Screeching noise and rubbing burning smell

If it goes away during braking then it quite possibly IS the brakes. But could also be a wheel bearing on that side. After you park the car touch all four wheels near the center and see if you feel a difference on one rear wheel.
  13. Poor gas mileage 15.1 city 21-23 highway (Los Angeles)

We have a 21 Badlands with stock tires still on it. We average 24.8 mpg in mixed driving. And that has not changed since we bought it new. We use 93 octane exclusively .
  14. Popping sound when taking foot off brake peddle

If you are pointed uphill, the hill control will sometimes "pop" as it lets off the brake, when you hit the gas.
  15. Trailer Warnings Buggin' Out

It should have three connectors. one harness heads to the front of the car. one goes down through the hatch are floor the last one goes up to the right hatch corner. A total of about 7 or 8 wires This module handles the trailer lighting from CAN BUS signals.
  16. Trailer Warnings Buggin' Out

The trailer controller module is located in the right rear corner. Look for some water leaks behind the right rear wheel of maybe above that in the glass.
  17. 6 piece Badlands OEM mud flaps - where to buy?

It seems Ford has changed the part number for these. As of Feb 2023 they are now: M1PZ-5811398-B Left M1PZ-5811398-A Right
  18. 6 piece Badlands OEM mud flaps - where to buy?

So wind deflectors eh? I'll check Tasca but I might remove the one on the other side. Thanks
  19. 6 piece Badlands OEM mud flaps - where to buy?

We have a 2021 Badlands. It came with 6 piece mudflaps. There are (were) 2 small flaps in front of the rear wheels. We had an early mud season here and we seem to have lost one of these small mudflaps on the right side. Does anyone else have these 6 piece flaps? Are they still available from...
  20. Another one bites the dust, and early!

I should have mentioned in my original post that the salvage yard was asking $14,000.
