There is a recovery point. A tow point (they're not the same, btw) would be rather redundant. And silly. And yes, one can get a shackle for no additional cost from your friendly dealer.... *sigh*

FWIW, shopped several smaller unibody AWD last fall/winter. VW, Porsche (a bit redundant, I know), Subaru, Jeep, LR, and Ford. All "delete" (or cover) rear point w/factory tow. Based on how factory tows mount...
Ford Accessories can be purchased w/FordPass points. Not a new thing. Many here have used that to purchase floor mats, hood deflectors, and more. You get roughly $200 USD credit towards "ford" purchases (services, accessories, etc).
FWIW, Subaru also deletes the rear hook point w/factory tow...
Mine is on when a vehicle is in the blind spot, and flashes when turn signal is fully on (holding the stalk down just enough to activate the signal won't do it...)
And a few other "updates" as well...

In my experience w/OEMs, it's a bit of salesmanship along with some real engineering. The name brand company will usually work w/the suppliers and manuf in the development of component placement and selection to best fit the attributes of said brand at the given price point.

FWIW, tuning any automotive sound system that can make that sound decent requires a great deal of effort ($$$) , especially if one wishes to have good results from better quality sources.
I note that auto sound designed away from S/XM tend to be a bit more...
