It’s be because the BS is easily available now with a substantial discount. That drops the resale value. Anyone who bought at MSRP or above is taking a bath. They should expect this.
I bought my 23 OBX for $34,500 in Sept of 23. MSRP was $40,030. This discount is normal now.
I take Consumer Reports with a LARGE grain of salt. For instance, the 2023 is rated overall with red check mark for reliability. Yet none of the individual categories are red.

That’s not a solution. Look at the open recalls on those two brands. Not what they used to be. My 21 Honda Passport had 5 open recalls that I knew of when I dumped it. Wiring had to be replaced which required the dash and some of the interior to be removed. Mirrors literally falling. Seatbelts...
Adding a beep adds to cost? There is already a beep for collision warnings.

Of course not. Blinker on first If lane is occupied the BLIS illuminates on the mirror. My issue is no warning beep to accompany the mirror warning. Other vehicles have this.
Example: Moving into passing lane on Highway. Signal left. No BLIS warning. Visually check drivers mirror. Clear. Begin...
