Yes, the rack drops down or folds up. I haven't tried it in my BS, but the hatch on my old GTI would clear with bikes on the rack by putting the rack in the down position. I will try it and report back.

The basic model. They only had one when I bought it. It looks like it's now called the "quick rack single", but it can fit up to three racks total.

Has anyone changed their interior lighting? I don't like the bright whiteness of the LEDs and would prefer something a little warmer.

1up is awesome. I have had mine for 7 years and it has held up to lots of abuse. I've never had any issues.
