Oh I see that now yes its backwards. Sorry man that's rough. I'll still be cutting my OEMs down. I'll let you know how it goes and if it's successful you can try it out.
It’s going to drop your sway bar down a bit which will affect the leverage ratio of the bar twisting. That said...as long as it doesn’t hit anything I’m sure it’s fine. Better than your stuff breaking like the RC kit haha I’m sorry that happened.
with all the knocking issues people have from...
The reason they made the links shorter is because you are effectively lowering the shock when you install a spacer on it. So you have to shorten the link to keep the sway bar in the same place.
I have the kit and agree the rough country lift parts are built for an RC car, not a real one. I work...
Yah dude! I’m stoked that helped! Mines been holding up well so far.
I’m pretty familiar with the suspension on the car so if anyone has questions DM me and I’ll respond back.
I did the install myself and there are indicators on the strut spacer to tell you which way to align the 3 holes. I don’t even know if you can install them wrong, but maybe? The instructions don’t mention it but it’s very apparent they have a mark for a reason. Maybe the shop lined them up...
All the tools you need for the kit are simple socket tools, maybe you can run through all the bolts and check which are loose. The sway bar links are also connected to the drop down bracket, there’sa lot of bolts to come loose.
when does the clunk happen, can you describe what your driving over...
That’s the one! Mine came loose at the drop down bracket. If you notice the OEM links use tall nylon lock nuts, not standard flange nuts like the kit comes with.
Did they mention any modifications needing to be done to your bumper? The rear bumper is different for the hitch equipped bronco sports, mainly they have a recessed cutout for the hitch.
let us know how it goes!
The issue with going bigger isn’t height its width. Your pretty ok in the rear, but the front will rub when turning. I’m not tripping on bigger tires right now, my 245s fit the car well in my opinion
I just posted about my 1.5” lift and first off-road with it. It’s the front sway bar link bolts coming loose. You need to get nylon lock nuts and use some loctite as well. 100% that’sit! Take a 15mm socket and see if they’re loose. You don’t need to remove the wheels, just turn them to allow...
Yes as I mentioned the ride is much stiffer now and it makes sense, the arms sit at a lower leverage point now making the coil act as if it’s much stiffer. The ground clearance is worth it to me since that’s been a problem thus far for hitting the trails. For traction and comfort I air down my tires
These are the optional 18” wheels and new tires. 245/60r18 wildpeak at trails. The ride quality is improved a lot when you air down to 25psi, which I do when off-road.
A few weeks back we received our 1.5” lift kit from rough country. I went ahead and did the install myself, which took about 4 hours. Not bad considering I was working out of a 1 car garage in an apartment complex with 1 jack stand - the install was pretty simple! Something to note, the car...
245/60r18 Falken Wildpeak Trails. I did not get the At3 because at the end of the day it’s my commuter before off road vehicle. They fit stock no rub even under articulation.
I have not, we’ve been going up behind lytle creek towards Wrightwood. Sheep creek, baldy Mesa and cleghorn mostly.
planning on big bear and idyllwild soon tho
Those are the crossbars I got and I found a basket for $60 on offer up. The set up is way too tall and unnecessary. With my lift and tires, it’s a pain to get the stroller up there.
Yes it makes a big difference. It’s extremely loud and I lost about 3mpg on streets and more on freeway.
I’m an engineer and work in fabrication. I’m currently developing a new low profile roof rack and will be posting it soon. I’ll be selling them if people like it. DM me if you want me to...
