  1. Winter 2024 Overlanding Trip in Bronco Sport Badlands - Skowhegan, Maine to Canadian Border

So snow goat mode was fine for general driving(packed roads) , but the deep snow it was a hinderance. To clarify I’ve been driving 6 Months of the year on snow since I was 19,(Alaska and the Maine). My ability to feather throttle on acceleration and feather brakes by feel is exceptionally well...
  2. Winter 2024 Overlanding Trip in Bronco Sport Badlands - Skowhegan, Maine to Canadian Border

recovery was textbook, hooks, bungie rope. Actual skid plates are next investment, the crusty stuff hitting the factory one was not making me happy. Then Amber colored chase light and extra forward lights .(mixed amber and white) The amber shows up really well against the snow and makes...
  3. Winter 2024 Overlanding Trip in Bronco Sport Badlands - Skowhegan, Maine to Canadian Border

So the local overlanding group did the annual trip this weekend. I obviously went. I was the only unibody vehicle there and the least modified. The largest vehicles would be a dodge power wagon (factory locking diff, winch and rock sliders??), and a Jeep gladiator on 37 inch tires. The snow...
  4. 2025 Bronco Sport spied testing

Isn’t the 2.3 turbo like 305 hp/torque in the mustang ? 320 after the performance package tune and exhaust. I doubt 350 from a 4 banger production rig is economically feasible.
  5. Why Dragon name for engine?

They couldn’t call it the “turtle”, or “ rat”, neother would market well.
  6. Giving credit when due - slippery mode in snow

https://www.broncosportforum.com/forum/threads/overlanding-in-northern-maine-woods-in-feb-w-badlands-bronco-sport.8066/ The weird noise before I back up is the rear window washer. Lol

  8. I built a fire extinguisher mount.(front passenger seat footwell)

Wow those fires are well beyond a hand held extinguisher… lol
  9. I built a fire extinguisher mount.(front passenger seat footwell)

I hadn’t seen that. Does it fit non CMS models?
  10. I built a fire extinguisher mount.(front passenger seat footwell)

So I have a fire extinguisher in my bronco sport. The jeeps I hang with on weekends usually have oil leaks, and exhaust manifolds, it seemed prudent (For the forests we drive through, lol). The extinguisher basically bounces around, rattles, and usually isn’t exactly where it is supposed to be...
  11. Towing Confirmation

A tundra towed the space Shuttle (30k lbs I believe) . Publicity stunt sure, and top speed was 2-3 mph if I remember. A bicycle can safely pull a 10k trailer on a flat hard surface if the gearing is right. Top speed will be very low. Same with your BS. Pulling is easy. STOPPING the towed Object...
  12. Biggest size tires for Bronco Badlands without doing a lift?

As mentioned in about 10 threads before this… Height is not the problem, width is. When you turn your tire will rub on pinch welds if you go bigger than 245-70r17. I’ve got 235-65r17’s
  13. Anyone towing The Grand Ascape ST by Aliner?

Agreed. Weight of 1700 is before propane, spare tire/wheel for trailer, water, food, bedding, ect, you are easily looking at 2500 lbs.
  14. "Rattle" In Driver Side B-Pillar Upper?

I have a passenger seat belt adjuster(in and out part not up and down part) that will “moan” when it moves, like lean forward,”moan” back”moan” , annoying. They are replacing under warranty though.
  15. Towing Bronco Sport on a dolly

DONT! The rear wheels are Still spinning in this case. The rear wheels are connected to driveshaft via the rear differential . The rear diff will still be spinning despite being being in a powered down state, I would wager That there is a chance that the diff clutch might auto engage based on...
  16. 2023 Badlands Died - Anyone Else?

If they are unable to fix your car in a certain time frame (varies by state) they may be required to buy it back as a lemon. 45 days is the number I’ve heard(friends ram eco diesel broke oil cooler inside radiator, full engine and cooling system replaced,44 days).
  17. Ford survey - replacing key fobs with a smart phone app only

Seems like a potential issue. What happens if your phone dies, gets dropped, ect? How do you get home? I like the idea of multi car single fob, ie your mustang, and f150 could share a fob. OR if someone wanted to get super smart a universal fob so a Subaru and a f150 could share a fob. Getting...
  18. Introduction and trim decision help.

you be ok going with badlands and the larger tires, depending on how bad off-roading roads around Phoenix are. As for the road manners, the badlands is great, handles like a small unibody suv. Off-road you can go pretty good but it isn’t a dedicated body on frame off road rig. The wrangler is...
  19. What older vehicle that was produced long ago...

The m37, manual, true 4x4, smooth inline 6, stupid ground clearance and fording ability, just make the top gear a really tall gear so 75 on the interstate .
  20. Speed limit on BS Badlands 2.0L

i cant imagine that 120+ mph is “safe” in a vehicle as high as the BS. Having hit113 mph in a 240SXand 120 in amustang gt coyote im Ok not taking the bronco sport over 90.
