If it returns, I'll will take it to the dealer. I have the extended warranty so not sure if I'll have to pay the $50 deductible or if the SSM is covered.
At least I know what the issue is if they try to give me the run around.
A quick update. I drove my BL about 15 miles today and so far, the buzzing noise is gone.
My experiment with pulling the park release cable has worked. If anyone is in the situation with the high pitch buzzing noise, it's most likely the park release cable causing it.
Try doing this to see if...
Thanks for the info. I will be using this if It needs to be replaced.
This just started after 21k miles. I tried a little troubleshooting this morning. I went thru the procedure of pulling the cable to disengage Park and then restoring it too normal.
Only drove it for a mile or so but I'm sure...
I may have this issue on my 2021 BL. I see Ford has 2 SSM's regarding the manual park cable release problem.
SSM 50743 & SSM 51184. I can't really see any difference in the two. This just started a couple weeks ago.
It's a high pitch buzzing sound, not constant, more noticeable at lower...
Mark, not sure if the quality will ever recover.
Some brands are better than others, not sure who's at the top now, but with these vehicles getting more complicated, just more issues to go wrong with compromised parts.
We sure don't get what we pay for.
The automotive side is bad, but the RV...

Think it was 189" and fit in my garage, which is a must have for me.
I can say that my local Ford dealership, Gosch Ford in Temecula has been pretty decent.
I have owned 3 Escapes and now my BL. I have the Premium Care extended warranty with the 1st day rental option and the enhanced rental option. Well worth the $90 cost.
The dealer use to have on site rentals...
Both my original and replacement windshield, both Ford parts, say made in Mexico.
Maybe the new one says made in Mexico because the replacement company here in SoCal got it from a warehouse locally.
Obviously we are closer Mexico than Tenn. Other local's may get one made in Tenn.
With all that weight hanging off the back you are lightening up weight on the front suspension so steering will feel light, and handling will change for sure.
With the Bronco's short length and wheelbase, it's even more pronounced.
Replaced my windshield, 2021 BL. Had the cables on the old windshield but they were not hooked up.
New windshield ordered by Vin # and did not come with the cables. As Dude says Vin specific and if built during the pandemic any combo is possible.
