BL with BL. Paid $2000 over sticker MINUS $1250 rebates MINUS $1000 trade-in (2008 Mercury Mariner). Figured I could get maybe $4k for it but who knows and didn't want to deal with it.
So I'm wondering whether it's OK to use Slippery mode at highway speeds (more or less) for rain-slicked or snowy roads, or is there a max speed you can use the mode at?
My plan is to run two kayaks on the roof with Thule or Yakima crossbars. The bars are rated to 200 lbs. But if Ford rates it at 100 lbs (w sunroof) that's a problem. Static weight is fine, but I'm wondering how true or how much leeway the moving weight really is. The two kayaks would weigh 110...
I am considering getting two Hullavator-type assist devices, one on each side. Anyone done this? I'm just wondering whether the bars would be long enough to accommodate both. The BS Badlands is pretty tall and I'm not, and it would be a pain to get the yaks up and down otherwise.
