Hi all........looking for an armchair diagnosis on this one. 2021 BS BB with 50k. Earlier today I was driving up a small hill at about 40mph. With no notice, the temperature gauge peaked on hot, the check engine light came on, and I got a display reading Engine Coolant Hot or something to that effect. The car also lost all power. I pulled immediately over and turned the car off. I heard liquid gurgling behind the dashboard which gradually subsided. I opened the hood and the engine compartment stunk of coolant and it looked like maybe pooled liquid in the back of the engine compartment near the firewall. I couldn't really see because it was raining like hell. I didn't see any visible leaking but it was hard to tell. I'm having it towed in now. Any guesses?! Thanks and Bronco On!

And I don't know if it matters, but the catalytic converter and associated clamps were replaced a couple weeks ago at the dealer. I'm hoping a cracked/blown hose like
Bill G suggests.

Water pump failure....Sadly the early Dragon 1.5L suffer from the common problem.

Sorry to hear this happened to you John. I am assuming the drivetrain warranty is up? If so, I hear its about 1200$ parts and labour to rectify. Whatever the case may be, I hope you are back on the road soon and touch wood you never get stranded by it in the rain again.

Did you observe the coolant level in the coolant reservoir? You should be opening the hood every time you refuel and observe the coolant level in the reservoir along with a general look at how things are under the hood.

What is your check out list when you look under the hood?
