I got a call earlier today from my Ford dealership stating there was a recall on my BS. I don't remember seeing anything but I've been busy with health related stuff so maybe I missed it. She said it was a programming upgrade and they can come out to my house or work to do it, 30 minutes total.

When I got home I checked the app and I don't have any active recalls. I then got an email from my dealership confirming my appointment and stating they'd like to talk to me about the Vehicle Xchange program since there's a high demand for quality pre-owned vehicles, just like mine!

Is this a sales scam or is there really a recall? I'm still having health issues and don't feel like dealing with a salesman. I did look at what they have on the lot... a 2024 BL that's out of my price range, a 2025 BBBD that's pretty nice. But I don't want to dig myself deeper in debt by upgrading.

Sync is showing up to date.

I dug around on the Ford site and found "Powertrain control module pcm software update" campaign: 25S76/25V467.

At least it's not a total sales call.

There are several posts on this thread on how to find recall information so not going there. The part about the vehicle Xchange is dealer marketing looking to get you to trade your vehicle in.

Last year I had my Ford Edge in for service and as checking out they gave me a trade in price on my Edge without asking me if I wanted that information. It did lead me to start thinking about trading the Edge in so I guess the marketing worked but I did my own research on what my trade in was worth and it only worked because the more I thought about it I decided to buy a new Escape since they were being discontinued like the Edge was and I didn't know what I would buy if I waited. With my researching I did get about $1000 more for the Edge the dealer originally offered.
