And they say chivalry is dead.

Just to be clear, the towing eye is not necessary in that case (because it cannot be used) but a shackle hitch receiver is needed. Apparently our dealer and/or Ford agreed with me (or just wanted to get rid of me...) because they gave us the Curt unit that Ford sells as an accessory. This one:

Some might question the need for a shackle hitch receiver. If so, they are claiming that NO rear recovery point is necessary, including the towing eye that Ford says (in the owner's manual) MUST be kept in the vehicle at all times (see post #5 above).

Like any other emergency equipment, it may never be needed. I still have the OE 'donut' spare tires that came with my NX2000 and WRX. They have never been used but I'm glad I have them just in case. If the shackle hitch receiver is needed, hopefully it's to help someone else out.
You take care of friends.
Her father already has a tow point which can be set up with a shackle, tow strap, or kinetic rope/soft shackle, and he has a ball hitch from a previous vehicle.

That sounds good!

Unfortunately, many people -- including all Bronco Sport owners with the factory tow package -- do not, unless they bought a shackle hitch receiver themselves.

My main point is that since Ford shows the towing eye in the manual and says it MUST be carried at all times, they should supply one.

For the BS w/factory tow package, they should supply a shackle hitch receiver -- or at the very least, tell people who order the tow package to plan on spending about $50 for one -- because the hitch blocks the towing eye threads.

I don't go off-roading with my '23 OBX. I did however buy one of these and keep it in the spare tire compartment in case I ever have a need for it.
We haven't taken our BS BL off road either. We may at some point but my thinking is that just like having a spare tire is a good idea, even though you may never need it, so is having the towing eye (or shackle hitch receiver in our case).

Most tow trucks have towing eyes, but not all. Also, there are case where we want to help another driver or vice versa.

Can't hurt, might help.

I have the tow hook in the space a spare tire should be. I asked in another post if you could make this tow point visibly acceptable and someone answered that its for emergency use only. But aren't all tow hooks for emergency use only? So why can't we mount the tow hook with some visibly acceptable trim?

My post in the other thread wasn't that is strictly for emergency use only, it was that it is off-center and not the most attractive piece. If they had another matching point on the other side, one could probably make it look pleasing to the eye. Cheers!

I got it and you are correct. I found it funny that Ford decided to add an emergency item (tow hook) for another emergency item (nice looking tow hooks) that I chose not to add to my BS. So is this tow hook an emergency-emergency item? Or is Ford just saying, you really really need a tow hook?
Yet no spare tire in the 2025 BB.

That's basically what it is (see post #5 in this thread). My BS didn't come with one in the spare tire area, so I had to purchase one on my own (using points). Cheers!

One nice feature is that it can be oriented in one of two directions, depending on which is best for the angle of the recovery/pull.

Also, once you own one you are guaranteed to never need it!

Actually, we've already used ours to pull a tree down -- to ensure it would not fall on our shed.
