I have to snap that plastic fittings that are visible after opening the liftgate. These are at the top of rear opening.

You may want to check your vehicle.

I noticed mine weren’t fully pushed in one morning, figured it was an oversight during assembly. Sounds like I need to inspect it more frequently and be ready to make an appointment with the dealer. :/

I had same thought as jkernitzki for awhile but on some vehicles that plastic part will work itself loose just driving around and from the blowers at a drive through Touchless car wash

I've run into the same issue at the car wash. The blower will listen or unfasten the cove. Since I know it will happen i just snap it back in. It's a bit if a botherson but a known.

I let it go for a long time … the factory plastic push pins can be replaced with large enough push pins to prevent that part from working itself loose … mine is now pretty well locked in tight but still removable

What size pins did you use to replace them with?

Dealership replaced the pins under the 3yr 36k warranty after I got tired of pushing in the plastic piece - you can buy a very large set of various size and shape push pins on Amazon for not much money

If not in warranty: My suggestion is to carefully pop out the plastic piece, have a look at the push pin size and type (I recall mine has 2 different sizes) then order a various push pin kit containing the same shape pins but in “slightly larger size”
