Apparently the storm remnants of hurricane Priscilla wasn't done in the Phoenix area just yet. Tempe had a "microburst" earlier this afternoon with some significant damage.

Still, not as bad statewide as the October 2010 storms. At least 7 tornados, completely impassable streets, and the reason insurance paid for my new roof and pool remodel.

PSA: For the locals thinking of hitting the AZ State Fair, don't. $50 to park and get in the fairgrounds for two. That's before a single $12 beer, $18 fry bread, $26 turkey leg, or $55 ride ticket. Per person. Almost zero indoor exhibits (and none of any perceivable value).

On top of the absolutely egregious pricing, it was the most badly managed event I've seen since the fire drill in Kindergarten Cop.

Did you expect signage, informing you of which lanes are for which "special" group? Too expensive, cuts into the indefensible profit margin. Easier just have untrained and unqualified staff yell at guests because they're in "the wrong line." What line, you ask? There aren't any. It's just an unorganized gaggle crowding ill-defined entry points. Want to leave? Good luck finding exit signs, 'cause there ain't none.

Never. Again.

If Google had negative ratings, it still wouldn't go low enough. 🤬

Yeah, we haven't been to the Arizona state fair in over 30 years. It was a mess back then, and the whole thing was pretty sketchy back then. No. Thanks.
