2021 BL. I get a free Carfax report from my dealership every month. This came in my email this morning.

It probably won't affect to many owners. I am the 2nd owner and the BL's 1st owner was in Idaho. Probably the reason for the engine block heater optioned on the vehicle. I found out the original owner has numerous houses around the country, and my BL was used in this location.

I've never plugged it in, and it doesn't look like it was ever used.

So be watching for this in the future.

This recall is so new that it's not on the NHTSA website. It is on the Ford website.

Ford has had 60% of all recalls in the USA this year. Really nice products that we want, but quality control needs to improve.

All those recalls tell you they are looking after their customers.
Keep those recalls coming.👍
Nice spin. They either have lousy engineering or their products are well designed and their manufacturing sucks.

Pretty sure not a single engineer likes to have to shoehorn things (physically/electrically/software) the way they do, but are driven by the designers, who are driven by marketing.

Remember the introduction of the BS was driven both by the lukewarm response to the 2013 redesign of the Escape, with most folks actually preferring the previous boxy design, and the planned reintroduction of the Bronco, but Ford wanting a more accessible "version" of the Bronco label.

I traded in my 2021 BS Base. Was in the shop waiting for a rear diff and prior to that had water pump and a couple other recalls. Traded for big bend 2025 BS. What a difference!! I recommend trading the 2021’s in before the KBB dips too low. I got $17k trade in for mine.

Ford Motor Company is recalling nearly 60,000 Ford and Lincoln vehicles due to a potential fire hazard.

The Dearborn, Michigan-based automaker reported to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) the engine block heater in some vehicles may crack and develop a coolant leak, causing a short circuit when the block heater is plugged in.

A short circuit in the engine block heater increases the risk of an under-hood fire, Ford wrote in a letter to dealerships dated Wednesday, Oct. 15.

According to the NHTSA report, owners were advised not to plug in their block heater until the vehicle is fixed.

The auto manufacturer said it was not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries connected to the issue.

Ford models being recalled
  • 2016-2019 Lincoln MKC

What should I do if my Ford is recalled?

Notification letters are expected to be mailed to owners by Oct. 24. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, potentially in February 2026.
