Anyone use the built in AT&T Hotspot?

I can’t find hard answers on the monthly cost and data limits from AT&T without signing up for the “free” trial (bad sign already), and also wondering why it would be advantageous over just tethering from my phone (likely only tethering my iPad on road trips). FWIW, my phones are on T-Mobile “all-you-can-eat” data plans already.

I might be more amenable to the idea if the SIM were unlocked and I could just add it to my existing plan.

Do they actually have them on the 2025s? Most of us with older models got a whopping $10 or $20 "delete" credit because they weren't putting them in (it was called out on the window sticker). It’s advantageous when you are in an area not supported by your phones cellular data service but is supported by AT&T 3G cellular data in that area and it also allows a hotspot to be setup inside the vehicle using the AT&T service whenever you don’t want others using a hotspot from your phone.

I tried it during the trial period and there did not seem to be any downsides to just shutting it off after the trial period ended

Data transfers were pretty slow however
