I just jumped ship to Subaru after owning a couple of Fords and wanted to make a post reflecting my initial impressions.
I put on a quite handful of miles on the BS and my recent torque converter developments had me worried. Decided it was time. I got the top trim Outback with the turbo engine so coming from Big Bend, it's a different league. The thing rippppps even with the CVT. I also missed the more sedan-esque sitting position and the Outback looks like a better fit for me.
I might be back to Ford or even Bronco Sport one day when they make a car that fits better for me.
For now, I am shopping for bumper stickers to cover the rear hatch with that properly reflect all my interests and causes.

- I miss the buttons already. Not a huge fan of controls being moved to the touch screen. This trend needs to die.
- The pin code entry is so convenient. I would go ride my bike or run and leave the keys in the car. Outback has something similar but nowhere near as useful.
- On a related note, the free connected services like remote start will surely be missed. I think everyone else except Ford charges for this? Crazy.
- The rotary dial shifter gets a lot of undeserved hate. It is so quick to shift back and forth when parallel parking.
- Radar based cruise control feels like a better solution. Even if camera-only system works just as well, I can't bring myself to trust it.
