I have owned my BB for just three months and the dealership has just had to replace my battery. There was another customer there with an Eco Sport and she had to have hers replaced as well. We both had messages come across the large screen "Shutting down accessory systems to conserve power"....or something like that. Question.....Is Ford having a problem with there gel batteries?

My 2022 OB was built 12/23/21.
Just noticed yesterday my battery is ā€œMade in Chinaā€.
Enough said.
Surprised me for sure.

mine is solid, especially after one of the coldest winters we’ve had here in years.

They replaced it under warranty right? Than all is good, sometimes batteries go bad just like all things electronic.

Yes, the battery was replaced under warranty. The others in the dealership waiting room were having the same issue and their batteries were being replaced as well. I wonder if it's a supplier issue? I contacted Ford Customer Service and made a report so they would investigate it further.

Just got this after opening and closing my doors a few times. I’ve been driving a lot, so wondering if this is indicative of a bad battery? Probably because it keeps playing the bronco opening scene and turning on lights every time I open a door!

You don’t leave anything plugged into the 12v in the dash do you? Mine stays hot even when vehicle is off. Had my cam plugged into it and got out and then came out later to check and was still on. Even after waiting 3 hours it was still pulling power. I figured it would power off after a timeout period but it doesn’t. First vehicle I’ve ever had that it wasn’t a switched source.

Gel battery ? Mine is just a regular old fashion lead acid type.
15 months old and no problems.
Did they upgrade to AGM ?

It's what mine came with from the factory. I guess they look like a regular battery, but internally it's a gel....according to the Service Manager.

Well stop opening the door!

Seriously, if you've been driving a lot then the battery should be fully charged. The bad news is the only way to know for certain is with a battery load test, which requires a bit of time and a special test unit. If the battery is bad it should be replaced under warranty, which means you need to get it in for service.

It's not that I doubt you, because Ford seems to be throwing whatever they can into the builds, but don't take some rando SM guy's word for it. Open the hood and see what you have. My battery looks like a regular battery, but also says "LEAD ACID BATTERY" right on the top. I bet yours did too. Maybe dealer took out the LA battery and replaced it with an Optima or something to try to solve the issue? Or maybe the new one is a stock replacement and also says LEAD ACID on it?

Mine says Motorcraft Tested Tough AGM part #BAGM-48H6-760. I do not see Lead Acid Battery on it.

Hummm,

AGM or Absorbent Glass Mat is an advanced lead-acid battery that provides superior power to support the higher electrical demands of today's vehicles and start-stop applications. AGM batteries are extremely resistant to vibration, are totally sealed, non spillable and maintenance-free

Have to go check mine, not having any problems like reported here....

EDIT:
My battery is a BHEF-48H6, made in China......... ugh!!

Don't we make anything in this country anymore?

I’m not sure actually, Ford’s site doesn’t say a lot about it.

This seems to indicate that the AGM is Absorbed Glass Mat & somehow different and/or ā€˜better’ than lead acid.
I'll just have to see how long this "new" one lasts. The original may have been part of a bad batch of supplier parts....or not. Time will tell.
