Precisely, no problem. All those nasty contaminants are held in suspension by the oil—where they cause no harm—until you change the oil at the recommended interval. Motor oil is designed (in part) to hold contaminants, and the recommended category (ILSAC GF-6 and/or API SP) is designed specifically for the contaminants produce by small turbocharged engines. Ford's engineers verify its maintenance recommendations with data collected from untold hours of grueling engine testing. That's good enough for me to say "no prob" with confidence and enthusiasm.

I love tinkering with my machines as much as the next guy, but I like tinkering to make things easier. Adding unnecessarily to the number of required maintenance tasks is a step backwards to me.

But to each his own!
Great banter
Yeah, things have changed over the years and the lubricants have done well with that regard.
Ford's engineers have taken advantage of this by dumping that clam chowder back into yesterdays soup of the day. Those leftovers will not have the port injection to deal with fortunately.
So slip it back into the mix. It's okay, dilution is the solution.
Nah, no thanks

Agreed!

Those leftovers will not have the port injection to deal with fortunately.
I just learned that the 1.5L uses both port and direct injection. Not so for the 2.0L. Then again, the wife drove her 2.0L-equipped 2014 Escape for 120K miles with no valve contamination issues. Changed the oil (full synthetic) on Ford's recommended schedule, and that's it. Our great experience with that car made the Badlands purchase decision easy.

Had some nice weather so I was able to install the hood struts. Found out there are a lot of sharp metal edges along those fenders! If I can just get a hood pad I'll be all set in that area.

Put in my SmartLiner floor mats and cargo mat. I really wanted the OEM ones with the bronco logos... But not going under the gas pedal bothered me.

I have the Ford Bronco mats. I just cut a piece of black carpet from a scrap I had and placed up in that area to the right of the dead pedal. I purchased it at HD. I used it to line the trunk in one of my other projects. It matches perfectly with the black carpet in place and you'd never know it was there.

How much till you scrape the pinch weld ? What is the height of the tire ? Looks like you increased the space underneath .
