Great banterPrecisely, no problem. All those nasty contaminants are held in suspension by the oil—where they cause no harm—until you change the oil at the recommended interval. Motor oil is designed (in part) to hold contaminants, and the recommended category (ILSAC GF-6 and/or API SP) is designed specifically for the contaminants produce by small turbocharged engines. Ford's engineers verify its maintenance recommendations with data collected from untold hours of grueling engine testing. That's good enough for me to say "no prob" with confidence and enthusiasm.
I love tinkering with my machines as much as the next guy, but I like tinkering to make things easier. Adding unnecessarily to the number of required maintenance tasks is a step backwards to me.
But to each his own!
Yeah, things have changed over the years and the lubricants have done well with that regard.
Ford's engineers have taken advantage of this by dumping that clam chowder back into yesterdays soup of the day. Those leftovers will not have the port injection to deal with fortunately.
So slip it back into the mix. It's okay, dilution is the solution.
