i’m looking at the 1UP bike rack model 2” super duty vs Eqip-D model. The former has a 70 lb per bike capacity but have to dink around to get extra parts for fat tire bikes.
The Eqip-D douple come with more and looks a little more refined.

The extra weight capacity would be nice if i wanted to tow my rad e-bike but I’m not sure if will. Anyway just wondering about anyone with general comments about 1up racks.

Very well made and great for fat tire bikes. They lock into the receiver so the don’t rattle. My son has one and I plan on getting the same except for two bikes.

If you're interested in the 1UP racks you should check out the Quikr Mach2. I think it's a spinoff company from the original 1UP designer and their rack supposedly improves on the design in a lot of ways.

I wanted it but don't bike enough to justify the cost. And they hadn't started shipping orders when I was in the market, anyways.

That rack looks nice. I really like the modularity of it. But the 6 month lead time means that bike season will be almost over by the time it arrives!

Oh bummer, I didn't realize they were long lead. I haven't checked up on them in probably a year.

1up is awesome. I have had mine for 7 years and it has held up to lots of abuse. I've never had any issues.

Does anyone have Super Duty. Im curious if anyone knows how much of a pain it is to go back and fourth for the fat tire expansion if say one week you rode with someone that had a fat tire bike then another time you needed to carry a 29er.

i wonder how hard it would be to build an adapter fro the rack to convert it to a cargo hauler. Since its pretty rectangular and blocky it seems like it really value if you could.

We’ve had a couple of 1up racks on our cars for the last 5 years. Absolutely love them. Sturdy without mild steel and very minimal plastic. Should outlive a couple vehicles. Only touches the tires, so no rubbing into your paint job or carbon fiber. Spare parts are very reasonable, got hit in a parking lot and it just bent a $9 part.

If I had a fat bike, I’d just leave one tray with the fat spacers in. Will still hold a narrow tire just fine. 29er with the fat spacer is no different than putting a road bike on.

Only a few hassles with the rack.
Switching for smaller than 26” tires requires a few minutes of wrenching.
Bikes with full fenders can be a bit hard to get in, usually need a supplemental strap or two to hold securely.
Bikes with just the wrong size difference, especially without dropper or quick release seatposts can be hard to get next to each other.

Nice! Yeah I definitely am attracted to how it does have all the moulded plastics and “mild steal” like you said. Thank for the insight of how to work with it.

Do the one up racks have any way to move out of the way to open the tailgate? Not a dealbreaker. But a nice to have for sure.
