My bad, just went through this on my F350 and automatically thought keyed fob. Try this video, should be the same as on the BS. Pretty sure this is what I did on my wife’s 2013 Explorer.

I used this procedure to program a used OEM fob for our 2022 with push button ignition, but suspect it will work for 21's and 23's and aftermarket fobs. Your guess is as good as mine why this isn't in the owners manual...

2022 Bronco Sport Fob Programming
Notes

-A used OEM fob can be programmed if it has same frequency and number of buttons as the ones that came with the car

-Two (2) previously programmed fobs and the unprogrammed fob must be available inside the vehicle for programming

-All fobs must have good batteries. Remove terminal seals from new batteries

-All doors must be closed before beginning programming, and remain closed and unlocked throughout the procedure

-Vehicle must be OFF before beginning programming

-Foot must not be on the brake pedal during programming

-If an error is made or programming is unsuccessful, wait one minute before repeating the procedure

Preliminary Instructions
-Remove the three fobs from key rings (if any)

-Remove the valet keys from the three fobs

-Remove the rubber mat in the storage bin at the front of the console

-Fobs are inserted into the backup slot with the button side up and the valet key end to the right

Programming Procedure
The procedure must be completed within 30 seconds. Read the procedure and practice it a few time to become acquainted with the steps before attempting programming.

(First Programmed Fob)
Place the 1st programmed fob in the backup slot

Press and release the push button ignition switch

When the chime tone ceases, press and release the push button ignition switch again

Remove 1st programmed fob

(Second Programmed Fob)

Within 10 seconds, place the 2nd programmed fob in the backup slot

Press and release the push button ignition switch

When the chime tone ceases, press and release the ignition switch again

Remove 2nd programmed fob

(Unprogrammed Romote)

Within 10 seconds, place the unprogrammed fob in the backup slot

Press and HOLD the push button ignition switch until the horn chirps, the hazard lights flash and the display indicates "Key Program Successful."

Place foot on the brake pedal and press the push button ignition switch to verify vehicle starts with the new fob

If an error is made or programming is unsuccessful, wait one minute before repeating the programming procedure

Its crazy how they come up with these programming processes to make sure things don’t get accidentally programmed. I can’t remember the exact process on the Escape but fortunately it left off any gymnastic moves while holding three separate buttons.

I can validate that this procedure works to program a third and fourth keyfob on a 2023 Bronco Sport Badlands, having just done this. Thank you for this contribution, you saved me $175 in labor + tax having the dealer program the keys instead. I was able to validate functionalty by testing the fob buttons and then starting/driving with each of the new fobs in the car individually.

I make one note:
A used OEM fob can be programmed if it has same frequency and number of buttons as the ones that came with the car
My vehicle came with two four button (lock/unlock/remote start/panic) fobs with FCC ID M3N-A2C931426 (a 902mhz part), and I had no issues programming 5 button (lock/unlock/remote start/liftgate/panic) fobs with that same FCC ID. All buttons on the five button remote (including the liftgate button) work.

Digging up a rather old thread, but after a year and several false starts, I finally got the emergency keyblades in the additional two keys I self programmed cut.

Why revisit this after a year? Well, I'll give my experience and hopefully that helps someone.

Why cut the emergency key if I have a keyfob? In a CUV there's no keyhole for the trunk, and there's no keyhole to lock the glovebox before valeting your car in the BS, so the key use is to be able to unlock the driver door and pop the hood (if trying to jump start or replace battery) or put the vehicle into neutral (if it needs to be towed).

My experience:

1. Ask your dealer or locksmith if they cut the blanks of center cut keys
This is a relatively rare machine. Many dealers and locksmiths lack the machine for this. The key part is to ask them if they can cut a center cut key from the Ford OEM blank (most places that will sell you the keyfobs will put an uncut blank in the bottom). If they answer that they can order the key, they will be ordering it from Rotunda - the blank and the key - and getting it mailed. This will run you $60-$80.

2. Instruct your locksmith to select "BRONCO" for the vehicle, not Bronco II
No locksmith I encountered had the BS as an option. If they select the Bronco II, Ford hasn't made that since 1990, so the key cutting machine will error out that the key inserted doesn't match the car and refuse to cut it.

(New York state's registration actually just lists it as a 2023 Ford Bronco, there's no mention of sport in it...)

3. Price compare
I received quotes to cut that little piece of metal that ranged from $15 a blank cut (needed two) to $100 (!!! - and yes, I did ask, no transponder, just cutting the blank) from different locksmiths, auto parts stores, and dealers. All Ford dealer quotes were reasonable IF you had the blank already, but were more expensive if they had to order it cut from Rotunda to be mailed to them. I ended up paying $25 + tax (total, combined for both) to get the two blanks cut at a Ford Dealer's parts counter.

If you're in Putnam County NY, allegedly the Ford dealership in Patterson can cut the keys. If you're closer to Danbury CT (which borders NYS), Colonial Ford was very reasonable for getting my existing blanks cut and were very friendly.

I suspect not, but I also have an old key fob from a totaled Outer Banks. I wonder if I could program it to my Big Bend and get the remote start to work from keyfob? I wonder if the remote start via the app and keyfob are interchangeable with each other.

If the keyfob is a compatible part number and runs on the same frequency, you should be able to reprogram the fob to the new vehicle.

In the 2023 BS at least, some cars are equipped with 315mhz keys, while others are 902-903mhz keys. They look very similar, potentially even with the same buttons and exterior shell.

If you Google the part number on the base of the remote with the key removed that starts with M3N + the acronym "FCC" and then view the test report, you can see what frequency your key is. Do this for both the key you want to program and a working key from your new BS.

If both parts list 315mhz or both parts list 902/903 mhz - you should be able to self-program the old key from the totaled BS OB to your new car (assuming you have at least two keys already programmed).

If the keys are of different frequencies - your old keys will not be able to be programmed to your new vehicle.

My bad, just went through this on my F350 and automatically thought keyed fob. Try this video, should be the same as on the BS. Pretty sure this is what I did on my wife’s 2013 Explorer.
Howdy.... will this process work if I only have 1 key FOB? If so, do I just skip the 2nd key or put the 1st key back in for the 2nd key option?
