Thank you for clarifying. I'm really just making the point that a person shouldn't assume a vehicle is aligned just because it is new. A dealer may not admit there is a problem or align it until the damage is done.

I'm sure they do some sort of check, but assembly line settings don't necessarily meet road alignment specs. There are too many opportunities for the front end to get out of wack before the owner picks up the car to assume its' ok until a set of tires are ruined.

I had a tire wear problem on a new Ford a few years back and it was explained to me that new car assembly line settings don't necessarily meet road alignment specs. I've taken my new cars into the alignment shop when I get them ever since.
