Well, the Engine looks tacky with out it ,IMO As long as there is a demand for the covers , ford will keep stocking them & owners who want them , will keep installing them & of course , some won't .

I picked up our BS from the dealer today after having the FDM recall done, plus I had them do the first oil change. Before I left the dealer's lot I popped the hood to make sure that my engine cover was still there! If I ever sell my BSport I’m keeping the engine cover. Too much value to let it go.

My wife has a 21 Escape SEL with the 1.5 she bought less than a week after mine did NOT come with the cover. The long white stud in the back is there. You don't need to buy one. There is now a bracket that is on that stud that has two zip tie locations to hold down hoses now that the cover isn't there. You snip those zip ties and gently pry off the bracket (and discard) and the white post/stud is there. You have to buy 3 of the small black studs and the cover but the threaded taped holes or inserts are there with nothing in them so you just screw then in. It's really easy to do. Apparently the Escapes made in the same factory with the same engine are still having them installed. It's really easy to install. If you need the part numbers I'll post them. Does make the engine quieter.
Hang it up on wall as art ..If I ever sell my BSport I’m keeping the engine cover. Too much value to let it go.
Obviously a '21 cause '22 2.0 don't have covers![]()

Better safe then sorry...Before I left the dealer's lot I popped the hood to make sure that my engine cover was still there!
I seriously doubt that explanation. If true I expect Ford would've issued a TSB or recall about the issue. The 2022 I just picked up didn’t have one. I went to the parts department to order and the parts guy said he had one in stock but wouldn’t recommend I buy it. He said Ford didn’t stop putting them on due to cost or supply. They stopped because it was causing the motor to overheat. Is that true?
So a flimsy piece of plastic causes engine to over heat? Wow I gonna go out and pull mine off!!The 2022 I just picked up didn’t have one. I’m gonna hang it around my neck like flava flavHang it up on wall as art ..
Totally agree it seems like a flimsy excuse. But why make that up versus selling me one of several he had?I seriously doubt that explanation. If true I expect Ford would've issued a TSB or recall about the issue.
