Order confirmation/build date question

We ordered our Bronco Sport Outer Banks May 13th. I have been told that you should receive a confirmation email 1-2 days after ordering. is this correct. It is not May 24 and no email or other correspondence has been received. Should I be calling my dealership? We were told when we ordered that we can expect delivery in 16 weeks. Now they say 16-18weeks. I know we are close to the wire as I have heard that no new orders were taken last May 15th. I’m really hoping our dealership got our order in on time! How do they know this, (re:16-18week delivery) and we haven’t even received a confirmation of our order yet? Does this seem strange. Please advise.

You should follow up with your dealer. Give it a week. Once you have your order number and VIN, you can call Ford support regarding the production status of your vehicle.

When my dealer ordered mine I got order confirmation email immediately. If dealer put order in as Dealer Ordered as inventory then you wont get emails.

I ordered an Outer Banks on May 7 and I got my Order Confirmation from Ford the next day, on the 8th. Per Ford, the next step will be a "Scheduled for Production" email, but knowing all of the production delays and how many are in front of me, it may be a long wait for the next email.

It will be three weeks on Friday since I placed the order. What is the typical wait for step 2?

ordered 3/19, confirmation email came on 4/15.
My dealer emailed a copy of the order so I know it was ordered on 3/19. Why the email took so long, I don't know. But... the confirmation email also had my build date on it.

I ordered 3/19, order confirm email that day. First email with production date April 1 so two weeks later. But when you get production date email varies no consistent time frame.

so as a customer order it is 'one off' specific to you, and all contact and information essentially goes through you. If it is dealer ordered, they place a volume order. My order went in as such. My dealer had all the emails and information, he was actually great about sharing any and all updates, and in the end, as he had 7 other Broncos as dealer orders, it appears they were pushed a little faster due to volume. Whenever in doubt. MONEY...the more money the faster things happen...your $35K Bronco vs. $245K in Broncos PLUS whatever other vehicles they oredered as an example.

Also, are all orders equal? For instance, dealership order, customer orders, A plan or other employee orders? I assume so.

I see! Makes sense. Although anything I have read talks about dealer orders going in on Mondays. If this is the case, and if there is an actual “stop date” for new 2021 orders as of April 15th, I’m screwed. We went in and ordered May 13th, a Thursday. Perhaps the order didn’t go in until the following Monday? I will be calling them tomorrow just to see where we are at. I’m not overly concerned, but it will make a big difference in when I get the vehicle. There is talk that anything ordered after May 15 might not arrive until 2022? I was told my order should take 16-18 weeks. Makes it around Sept 2-16. My husband works for Ford and said to leave it alone, but I feel I have the right to know, especially if the date of arrival will be much later than expected.

When I purchased in early May it was said anything ordered now...basically where you are would be October delivery.

Only 5 months from order to delivery? (Sarcasm) I ordered in mid February and IF no further delays, I expect delivery by Mid August - only 6 months.

If the date of arrival will be much later than expected.

In most cases it will be much later than expected. Be ready for numerous production date changes and delays due to various part shortages plant shut downs ect.

Your dealer also needed to enter your email address into Ford’s order system (WBDO). If they didn’t, or entered it incorrectly, you won’t receive any updates. Customer orders, known by Ford as Retail orders, have priority over stock/inventory orders for that particular dealer. So, it’s important that they entered it as a Retail order. Your dealer will know how it was entered as it‘s identified by order type in WBDO (Web Based Dealer Ordering system). Any plan pricing program is irrelevant and has no effect on timing.

You may see it sooner because you're in Canada not the United States.
