I look at used car sales to pass some time. Looking at the 2025 Badlands, in California, I've notice quite a few for sale and a lot of them are rentals.

Almost all do not have the tech package or sunroofs. Some Ford certified, 8-15K miles. Mostly are $32k to $34K. Not bad deals if you don't want the options.

I have a 2021 Badlands, I don't think I would buy another. I still have an issue with its lack of towing capability, and the 2025's move to having a number of controls being screen based is a deal breaker. they are awkward to use when driving and are a distraction.

As noted, I have a 2025 BL. The Sync 4 is a vast improvement IMO.

I am sloooowly get use to the HVAC controls on the screen.

I think everyone worries about the screen controls, for valid reasons.

However, as with everything, it becomes muscle memory where the buttons are located. Takes hardly any more time than my knob controls in other vehicles.

It’s not like you’re navigating through fourteen pages of controls to change the fan speed or temp. Just reach and push the +/- and voila. Done.

I think the biggest distraction on the screen is it comes defaulted to white. That was the first thing I did after taking possession, switched it to dark screen, and it is significantly less distracting.

I switched to the dark screen mode. Easier for me to read. I'll keep it for a while and see how it works out.

I wonder if i can change the screen to dark on My 2025 XLT AWD Maverick with the 2.0EB? Otherwise like You I don't mind the touch screen for the Heater and A/C Controls.

I have a 2022 used Badlands. It has the B&O sound, heated seats/steering wheel and built in navigation. They were the features that were important to me. Without those I feel like they are base models. Would liked to have the moonroof but, not that big of a deal to me. Got a good deal. Traded in a 2018 premium loaded Ecoboost Mustang with 104,000 miles and got $11,600 on trade. Bought the 2022 Badlands with 38,500 miles for $25,000. With taxes and fees out the door around $15,000.

I think that's a great price! $5K+ dealer discount? We bought our Badlands in October 22 when inventory was still very tight post-Covid. At that time we felt lucky to get one at full sticker price. Most dealers were hitting you with $3-5K added markup. Our BL (with no premium package) was $43K.
