Just spotted this! If you search dealer inventory on the newly updated B&P, the vehicle summary shows MPG estimates. Looks like 1.5L is 25/28. Haven’t done a search for 2.0 yet
Oof not so great for your BL & FE folks.

21 City/26 highway for the BL and FE is basically the same as my Edge ST (19/26). I understand there is a full time 4WD system here, but the BL/FE are also almost 800 lbs. less than the Edge ST and putting out ~90 hp less.

I didn't expect the BS to match the Escape's mpg numbers (23/31), but this is worse than I was expecting.

Agreed. But when comparing the mpg results of the 3000 mile trial in the screen shot to the official estimates, these numbers are hopefully conservative.

Fair point. You would assume that 3000 miles was very mixed driving as well.

I was expecting, or at least hoping for about 22/29 for the 2.0 equipped BS.

Yep. That's more in line with what I had anticipated too.

Coming from my current 26/36/29... (and I often average low 40s on long trips where I can just set the cruise and go), this hurts. Might be a deal breaker for me depending on if my dealership has penalties for cancelled order. We shall see. I’m not opposed to waiting a year for a potential hybrid option. We all know it’s coming eventually.

For those of you that are curious... I did the math comparing the actual cost difference of the bronco sport estimated combined mpg of 23 and a vehicle with a better combined mpg of 29.

bronco sport= 23 mpg
More fuel efficient vehicle= 29 mpg

For this example I’m calculating the total cost of gas for driving 150,000 miles at the current national premium price.
Ford Bronco Sport MPG revealed in Canada 3F86BEAB-CC0E-4D84-AFA8-A8567443EDF4

150,000/23=6522 gallons
150,000/29=5172 gallons

23 mpg=$18,112
29 mpg=$14,363

Over 150,000 miles you are spending $3,749 more than a more fuel efficient 29 mpg.

At an average of 10,000 miles/year that’s $250 more/year. $20.84 more/month.

This additional cost may be a deal breaker for you. I personally am happy to spend my money on a bronco sport for many many reasons. One idea if you really love this vehicle but not the added monthly expense of $20.84, try eating out 1 less time/month. If you drive 20,000 miles/year... eat out 2 less times/month.
Thanks for the perspective. There’s a few more things on my overall pros/cons list. This just nudged it closer was all. No decisions made yet. Ultimately I’m just keeping in mind the few cons versus upside down equity if I were to trade in 1-2 years when the options I do want are available.

Edit: A bit more perspective, I drive a fair bit under 10k a year so it probably matters less than I think it does.

If you look at the Ford Edge ST' specs.. we see

2.0L Turbo
FWD: 21 city/29 hwy/24 combined mpg
AWD: 21 city/28 hwy/23 combined mpg

2.7 Turbo
AWD: 19 city/26 hwy/21 combined mpg

Bronco Sport

2.0L Turbo
4x4: 21 city/26 hwy/23 combined mpg

The Bronco Sport BL/FE is actually 3" taller than the Edge, has a more off-road suspension, and I am assuming are measured with AT tires instead of All Season SUV tires. All of which would contribute to more aerodynamic drag and radial friction, which in turns negatively affect MPG; especially in the highway scenarios at higher speeds.

also a bit more.. I believe the estimated mpg is for normal mode. There is also an eco mode.. give me the rest of your con list, if you want to be nudged back
Good point on EcoMode.
Ha you can try! I’m pretty good at waffling back and forth on my own. Most of my cons (other than MPG) have already been posted elsewhere: seat fabric options, excessive black urethane inside & out, and a few of the options that are tied to higher trims - unfortunately for personal reasons, going up a trim level to OB or BL doesn’t help in my situation. Leather is an instant no-go for me and BL base loses the options that I can at least mostly get otherwise on the BB+BB. Not my first new vehicle, but as a custom order build, it’s surprisingly frustrating how limited the process feels in a way. I’m sure others can relate.

If the FE is 26 Highway, I can't rationalize over $40k for it. If that's the case, I'll revert my search back to hybrid rav4, or maybe check my luxury options. Can probably get some loaded ass entry lvl german luxury for $40k

Looks like the BMW X1 is 21 city/31 hwy... but not fully loaded under $40k.. as they start at $36K
The next up is the MB GLB 250 4matic is 23 city/ 31 hwy... the VW Tiguan can probably be had fully loaded but its 21 City/ 27 Hwy...
