coolant leak on 2.0, dealer has had for 2+ days. cant chase down leak.

I noticed the leak last week Thursday 20th. Make appointment For Friday 27th. It was low but not terrible, but low. Sunday 23 it just above the tube leading down fromthe reservoir. Topped it off 3/4 between min/max. By Thursday 27th night when i dropped it off the reservoir was bone dry. I am not sure how long I had the leak, because I was checking my wiper nozzle when I noticed rhe reservoir was below min on the 20th. From this Sunday, to Thursday night the reservoir went from reccomended to empty. Dealer has no idea, no loaners, and Ford wont cover a rental until dealer chases down cause of leak and proves it is under warranty. 2 years 11 mos old with 31k miles, 8 year 100k mile full on warranty purchased with the buying of the car.

People noted coolant leak on the 2.0L EGR cooler as sneaky. No sign it just leak in the exhaust and burn water vapor.

I saw that theead. I thought that you also got the coolant burn smell? All times they took out and did pressure, never got a burning coolant smell. Will perhaps broach the topic Monday.

Ours is in on for a leak. It’s the water pump. Only symptom was no heat at idle. Heat return while underway for only a minute. It’s the 1.5. Not sure of 2.0 water pump is the same. Thursday will mark 2 weeks at the dealer. 1 1/2 days to diagnose. Wait on parts for 5 days and waiting for the repair now. Calls for 12 hours labor.

Yeah. Said no on water pump. That was first suspicion and first check.

Sounds like your turbo has been compromised. Coolant is leaking into the combustion chamber via the turbo. It happened to mine on its second turbo. It also cracked the head rendering the motor useless and out of warranty. After a $15,000 quote to fix it, I let Ford motor credit repo that POS!!!

Fortunately I have both initial and extended warranty. I learned with a Ford 6.7 diesel. I just am annoyed because they have no loaner and Ford wont cover a rental until dealer finds warranteeable issue. Pain in the ass. What were your symptoms? Like I said, the only symptom of loss of coolant is the empty tank and pressure test. I have had a smell of burning coolant like 1 or 2 times.
