Any guesses how long it’ll be before one of these wily and wooly new fellas escapes the labs and nests in someone’s vehicle?

Oh Grand! I have my own problems with the ones that come with less hair! Oh...and BTW, it's going to be a pretty penny to get this one fixed...(I was secretly hoping some "good old Texas boy" would say "Sure, little lady...bring it on down and we'll fix it under warranty"...LOL! NOT!

Wait ’til they find out, like the wooly mammoth (genes they used), this thing grows 12’ tall and weighs 12 tons!

So, there must be a bloody epidemic or something.
Today, I discovered a dead mouse in the rear seat footwells along with a bunch of chewed up white stringy crap.
I check threads on here, then I check the cabin air filter and sure enough, it’s all chewed out.
?

I am so sorry about that! I'm checking my cabin filter, too. Not fixed yet (the wiring needs to be inspected to get an estimate on how much i will have to pay on my 5 month old BS!). I'm also trying to find something that truly works. Will keep y'all posted on which suggestions paid off.

I’m starting with the quickest, cheapest supposed deterrent first - dryer sheets.

I Would use Bounce dryer sheets...(you can also use them, wet, to get bug guts off of the front of your Bronco and it won't hurt the paint....trust me, I'm in Texas and we have lots of bugs). I have them in the engine, plus Irish Spring AND cotton balls with spearmint oil. I won't know which one worked, but that's ok! Good luck!

Just putting this out there … Gene Hackman’s wife supposedly died of hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, a severe respiratory illness caused by viruses transmitted to humans through contact with infected rodents

In North America, there are 5 known rodents that can cause hantaviruses: deer mouse, cotton rat, rice rat, white-footed mouse, and red-backed vole. The deer mouse is the most common host in Canada.

Don’t need rodents anywhere near a vehicle but it’s much more likely they will chew something in a vehicle than a human getting hantavirus (In the United States, the CDC reports that about 20-50 cases of Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS) are confirmed annually)

Dude! Well, that is less than ideal! First time in 28 years this has happened. Oh yeah, and I contacted my dealer 4 days ago, sent email with photos, and still no clear answer on possible cost. I was also told I needed an oil change ($110) every 6 months no matter how many miles I have on it (2,600 miles)...so, there's that, too. It just gets better and better. I figure this will be my last car, so I got what I wanted...starting to rethink my decision! LOL!

We tried drier sheets. They built nests on them. Same for mothballs.

Maybe I have more "sensitive" mice... I've got to do something, obviously, other than sitting outside with a gun, like we have to do with feral hogs and armadillos. LOL!
