I thought I would post something positive!
I'm lucky enough to have Jack Kain Ford, a great, long-time family-owned Ford dealer in the next town over.
I've bought two cars from them including this Bronco Sport. The family has bought several more.

I dropped my 2022 Big Bend off last night after hours for the leaking water pump. Around 5 pm today it was delivered back to my driveway.
Essentially same day turnaround.

It looks like they installed the B revision of the pump, flushed as required including cleaner, replaced the bolts on the water pump, and replaced various gaskets.
I'm not exactly sure what the air conditioning system gaskets / o-rings are for but oh well.
The entire repair was covered under the 5-year / 60,000-mile powertrain warranty. The only cost to me was the $10 tip I gave the driver.

Why can't all car repair experiences be like this?
I genuinely don't mean this as an advertisement. I'm just happy it was back essentially the same day and done right as compared to reading the horror stories that some people have had to go through.

They also flashed for the recall. I drove it to town and back and the shifting is totally different. I don't mean the shift points, but the smoothness of the shifts. It no longer feels like it is stumbling over itself, the downshifts are hardly noticeable and I would have honestly believed they put a new transmission in if I didn't know better. There MUST be some updating to the transmission software in that recall package as it drives like a completely different vehicle. This is far past the battery was unplugged, modules clear, relearning in progress.

Have a nice day!

That's the million dollar question.

It does seem like location and ownership matter. Your case is a perfect example -- not a large metro area and long-time family-owned dealer.

You'd think the mfrs (Ford in this case) would have significant control over their dealers, but apparently they don't -- or they just don't care.

Dealers like Jack Kain Ford should be rewarded, and the dealers that jerk people around, commit fraud, take days if not weeks to do repairs, do shoddy work, etc., should be penalized -- including, in the most serious cases, having their franchise license revoked.

There are bound to be honest, competent people who would be happy to take over the dealership.

Glad your experience was a good one! Honestly I always get great service when I’m at Ford. Large metro area, relatively speaking, but it might be a smaller dealer owner group / chain than many.
