My 21 Big bend is at the dealer today to have the water pump replaced for the second time at 36,200 miles.
First time was at 20,000 miles.
I recommend you contact your dealership and remind them to FLUSH the cooling system before replacing the pump. I believe these pump failures contaminate the coolant with debris that will cause another pump failure if not flushed out.

I went with the TSB in hand.
They did perform the coolant flush so hopefully that will resolve the issue.

I asked the dealer if the serpentine belt could be replaced under warranty since it has been saturated by coolant 2 times now by a failed water pump. They said Ford would not cover it.
So I payed for the new belt for them to replace while the water pump was being installed.

Warranty paid for my belt.

These are the types of disparities that drive owners crazy.

Yeah, the belt on ours was shredded on edge in a few places. The service advisor showed it to me and said I should get it replaced. I told him it should be on Ford's dime, since it was a factory part that caused the damage. He said it was a wear item and Ford would not pay. I raised a bit of a stinky stink and he said they would replace it free of charge as a good will gesture. A couple months later, while doing an oil change, I noticed that the shredded belt had been put back on and I had been lied to. I ordered a new Motorcraft belt and put it on myself. Not a hard job at all. I JUST HATE that I was lied too. I guess they figured I would never know the diff.
