hi y’all…have a 2023 bronco sport…my wife needs a bike rack…could someone suggest which one to buy and from where? thank you
Have a look at Kuat bike racks but first get a good idea of the width of the bike(s) tires and the weight of the bike(s) owned now and may get in the near future, e-bikes tend to be pretty heavy. These parameters influence the best rack for your needs. Many e-bikes are heavier than some bike racks can safely carry.

We just upgraded to e-bikes and my internal rack system no longer works because of the overall height from the front axle mount to the top of the handle bars. Drove down to the 1up factory on Friday and picked up a double super duty rack. Seems to work quite well. We are adding the front wheel chocks just because I don’t like that the front can wiggle just a bit.

1up makes bullet proof bike racks!! What is the maximum bike weight the 1up double super duty rack can carry?
(I could look it up but you probably know)
100 lbs per tray when there is two trays. It gets a bit convoluted when you add additional trays. I’ll need the get the Rakattach for the 2 door. This rack is really solid. More than I need around here, but it is also rated for extreme off roading and we plan on taking the bikes out west next year.

Thanks!! Was definitely convoluted and when I tried to look up an answer I got 50-75lbs per tray but also said 225lbs total so didn’t make a lot of sense.

I had to look up Rak attach.. you need the swing away arm for your 2 door right to provide needed clearance when opening the hatch?

I need either an extension or the RakAttach. The extensions are cheap but then it impossible to open the tailgate. The RakAttach provides the needed clearance for the spare tire and allows it to swing either direction.

I forgot about the spare… thanks for the explanation
I’ll definitely look into the 1UP system if my Kuat bike rack ever wears out. I’ve had the Kuat rack since 2016 Subaru timeframe and just had to replace a part on the rack which thankfully are still available … it also swings down which is very convenient for the Bronco Sport and easily transports my Ebike (~50lbs) and a mountain bike.

I’ve been looking at both Kuat and 1up. I was leaning 1up since my son has one and really likes it. We went to the 1up factory since it’s only an hour away to look at the difference between the HD and the SD in person. It’s substantial and fits our needs better. Giving us a 20% discount for picking it up direct didn’t hurt either!
