I have it on mine as well, it's great, it remembers whatever your last setting was, it will either keep it on, or keep it off, unplug the OBDII port, and plug it in to the OBDII, plug the OBDII harness back into the start/stop eliminator.

If your auto start stop is functioning correctly it's basically transparent. Mine works so well I glance at the tach to see that that the engine did shut off, and the split second I move my foot off the brake I'm gone. If I want or need to turn it off I just press the button, no big deal.

My start/stop eliminator is from 4D Tech, works great. Autostop eliminator has one for the BS too. Haven't tried Autostop Eliminator's BS one, but the one I put in the 2023 Expedition of my folks works just as well.

I would recommend getting a battery test at a mechanic, tire center, or auto parts store (pretty much all of these places do this for free because it's easy, costs them nothing, and if your battery fails it's easy to try to sell you a battery)... if your vehicle is choosing not to autostop, there's a very high chance it's the BS' battery management system deciding the battery state of charge/health is not enough to use the system.
