Manual references security label with key cut info

New Bronco Spot owner here. Reading the owners manual (which, by the way, is terrible, clearly put together by someone who doesn’t understand the concept). It says that our keys should have been accompanied by a “security label” With important “key cut information “. We haven’t found such a label.
Dealership hasn’t been what I’d call helpful, so I thought I’d ask here first. Are we missing something? We do have a card for the keyless entry system.

Did your keyfob or keys come with a metal tag with numbers and or letters on the tag? Mine did. Keep the tag in a safe place.

My tag wasn't metal, but there was a black and white paper tag hanging from the keyring with 5 digits on it.

Be aware most dealers lack the machine to cut the emergency fob and just order pre-cut blanks from Rotunda. Unfortunately it's substantially more expensive.

If you do find a local dealer that does have the key cutting machine, they are likely to allow you to get it cut for far cheaper. Just make sure they know to pick the model year of the OG bronco, and not the Bronco II (which was last produced in 1991 and the key machine will see that it's a laser cut key [Bronco II didn't have]) and will error out...

Also, if your dealer has the key cutting machine, it should measure your existing emergency key blade cut, negating the need for the tag with the code printed on it. However, if you lost all existing keys - that's where you need that code.

I would guess it has something to do with this barcode and numbers.
Or on the back of my key there is this tag also.

Thanks Steve, we were hoping that might be it too, but our research indicates that’s just inventory control info.

We have the sticker on the back of one of the keys, but no barcode tag. Guessing the dealer didn’t save it.

I’m gonna guess that if it actually looked like the image in the manual, with the “Save for customer records” it would be far more likely it would actually have been saved and provided to us at purchase.

Some dealers keep the label in case the finance company needs to repo the car.

My dealer said it's that white sticker at the back of the key fob. I saved that part but I'm not sure if he was right.
