I have been poking around and it seems that the used prices for Bronco Sports are fairly low. Do these depreciate quickly? BTW. I am in the Northeast. Just an observation.

I just bought my BS BL and I shopped used before I bought new. In Michigan, I found that I could buy a new one (with the Z plan and rebates) for less than a used one. When I was looking, all of the used ones that I found were selling for the same price (or more) as a new one (private and at dealerships).

I had a 2021 that got totaled 9 months into ownership. I got back $10K more than I paid for it since used prices were so high.

If the UAW strikes last a long time, used vehicle costs will rise again.

All vehicles depreciate quickly.....as soon as you drive it off the lot. BS is no exception
While this has always been true, and will continue to be true...to an extent. The amount of depreciation with "lot drive off" is not what is used to be before.

The depreciation on "lot drive off" was ALWAYS driven by insane dealer inventory. I am wagering that dealers will NEVER return to those levels of inventory. You won't be able to go to a dealer again, like you did, say, back in the 90s...and have your choice of 5 different colors with 3 sets of options, on a model care you are looking at. You will have ONE color if you're lucky...and that will most likely be the dealer drive model. "Don't like that car and need one right away you say?....well....let me walk you over here to our lot of severely overpriced used cars".

Dealerships and auto manufacturing are moving towards a more 'custom build to order model'. All in all, expect cars to hold their water a bit better than they used to.

The dynamic at play here is simply OVERPRICED used car inventory that dealers overpaid for, themselves, and that they are frantically trying to cling to some type of profit margin on.

I haven't noticed anything special with the BS prices...but my thought is that any vehicle with more than 50K miles is going to start taking major hits in value over the next year or so until the inventory levels, and thus the market...stabilize.
