I've been hearing only what I can describe a deep bass sound, like a sub-woofer rumble, seemingly coming from the rear of my BS-Base model (no sub-woofer on audio system). It took me a while to identify that it is actually coming from my vehicle instead of others passing by, etc.
The sound is only present when going forward or reverse after the vehicle has been parked with the emergency brake on for a bit. The sound only lasts for a second or two, then goes away.

I do have the occasional annoying whining noise sometimes when reversing that comes from the rear brakes. This seems systemic across many BS's from what I've been reading. I'm thinking that the deep bass rumble sound might just be the initial vibration resonating from the rear brakes when the vehicle is first driven. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hey there. I can look into your Bronco’s noise concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info?

@MGM Was Ford able to help/identify the noise?
I never reached out to them as the user Ford Motor Company, above, did not validate to me that they are in fact with the company by sending their contact information.

The more I hear the noise, and the particular circumstances as to when it is made, leads me to believe that it is from the rear brakes. The volume of the noise seems related to temperature, and the length of time the vehicle is parked. I'm in south FL, heat seems to exacerbate the sound and so does how long the vehicle is parked.

Had the infamous battery failure today at 18,400 miles. While at the dealership, they noticed this noise (which has become more prevalent and vibrates the vehicle on slow turns). There is also now an occasional banging noise and the feel of drive-train slippage.

The problem is in the rear differential clutches. The dealer will replace the entire rear differential if, and when, they can get the parts...not to mention the labor shortages of skilled mechanics. They anticipate the vehicle being in the shop for an extended period but will provide a loaner.

I have to vent to this group at how quality issues with my Bronco Sport have totally jaded my experience; at the moment, I am seriously contemplating dumping the vehicle.

So, in 18,400 miles and 1.5 years of ownership, here's my quality issues:
- Recalled for brakes. Replacement pads make horrendous creaking noise and throw copious amounts of dust.
- Recalled for defective fuel injectors. This recall remains open due to parts unavailability. Ford's drain-line fix is only a band-aid anyway.... I guess somebody will have to get injured before they do the right thing and replace the injectors on impacted vehicles.
- Rear differential requires replacement.
- Blown bulb in rear taillight.
- Defective seal on driver's window; slight gap at top travel.
- Occasional erratic behavior on shut-down of electronics. Sometimes daytime running light stay on or vehicle horn beeps twice for no reason.
- 1 of 2 Locking clips on cabin air filter box has broken off.
- Windshield washer system loses pressure occasionally and must be run 20-30 seconds before spraying.
- Terrible gas mileage: 21 MPG city driving at best, 24 MPG Highway. 3 cylinder.

On the plus side, I really enjoy the looks of the vehicle, and it has great stability on the highway.

Sorry for all your issues. However, I would like to see this specific "defective injector" recall. If it is the one concerning the drain tube and software update, you are flat out wrong, I wish folks would quit posting misinformation on the subject. Cheers!

@cprcubed your post is accurate and while there is no specific "defective injector" recall (at this time) there is the Customer Satisfaction Program 22N18, see the following link for details

So I guess I should throw away my recall letter for Campaign/NHTSA #22S73/22V859:

"On your vehicle there is a possibility that a fuel injector may crack, which may result in fuel accumulating on the top of the engine."

The recall remediation is the drain tube and software update to alert the driver to lower fuel pressure. Would you rather have Ford install a drain tube for fuel after an injector cracks and spills fuel onto a hot engine? Or, would you rather that Ford take the right preventive remediation as the solution, and not under the guise of an accommodation of customer satisfaction, by replacing all of the injectors as the first and best action?

The bottom line in my post was the diagnosis of the noise and vibration in my BS being the rear differential, which may be helpful to others experiencing similar issues. For perspective, in my post, I merely pointed out all of the other quality issues I have experienced with my BS in a year and a half, which are far more and above any other vehicle I have owned.

Don’t understand why you want to throw away your recall letter: Campaign/NHTSA #22S73. As stated in Customer Satisfaction Program 22N18, the drain tube and PCM Programming are a prerequisite and remain even if fuel injectors have to get replaced. I must have missed why you feel the need to toss that recall letter.
It was a sarcastic response to cprcubed's statement:

Yes, the the recall and drain tube and PCM are prerequisites that must be done prior to Customer Satisfaction Program 22N18.

Dude, we are good.

Even though your response was intended as sarcasm, the point is even the latest, greatest injector (or sealing o-ring/hose, etc.) could possibly crack/fail. If there were significant injector cracking problems, you would definitely see a recall by the NHTSA. The drain path is needed regardless. Cheers!
