Order mean times

Hello,
I ordered a badlands roughly 8 weeks ago. I got the initial email your custom order has been placed. When I log into my account it does not show I have an order (maybe this is because I placed order through a dealer???‍). I’m just curious how many more weeks till I get some kind of update. Currently without a car (my F150 was bought back as it was a lemon) so hitching rides at the moment.

It's a craps shoot and depends on what options you selected and what parts Ford is having trouble sourcing. As for placing the order through a dealer, that's the only way you can order a vehicle. If you received the email that looks like the picture below, then the dealer really did input your order. Also you should have had to sign the order form, provide ID, and put down a deposit for the COVP (verifies you're a real customer and not the dealership trying to scam extra stock.) The next thing you'll get is an email saying your Bronco is scheduled for production. Sadly, there's nothing you can do to speed up the process. They'll make it when it's your turn in your dealer's queue and when they have the parts.

Yes I got that email. I didn’t sign anything because I know the owner and he has my ID and everything on file from the last car I ordered. I was just curious if there was an average build time people were experiencing.

Something seems to be wrong. Need to check back with the dealer. I ordered a loaded BL last week and got notice yesterday that it is scheduled for production the week of July31.

See my signature for a timeline of my order process. Of course, my 8 month wait happened with my '22 Badlands and the average time seems to change with each model year. '21 and '22 were the years of the Sport where everyone wanted them, so times seemed to be a bit longer than they are now.

We need to look at current orders. The supply problems are much better now and Ford has recently added 1100 employees to the Hermasillo plant. I can't see them doing that if they still have major parts shortages. Also read that production for BS was up 50% in May. Based on my recent experience I think Bronco83 has a problem with his order. Dealer should be able to resolve, but I hope he hasn't wasted his 8 weeks of waiting by not really being in the production que.

Hi, new to the forum. I ordered my badlands a few days ago on 6/12. I received a confirmation email a couple of hours later. I received a second email on 6/15 with a VIN number and indicating that I am scheduled to be built the week of 7/31. I thought that was very quick so do not know what to think. When tracking the order on the website it does not mention build scheduling week yet.

Also has anyone who has recently ordered a BS have any experience with the $1000 bonus cash rebate for custom orders (program 32028)? Does anyone know how the program works? I have no paperwork to indicate that I will get this rebate when the order comes in and calling Ford was no help. They just referred me back to the dealer.

I ordered my BS BL from Granger over a year and 1/2 ago when Ford was offering 1000 cash back for a custom order. As long as you have the Certificate number you will be fine. It will show up in Smart Vincent (Used by the dealer) as well. My wait at the time was 4 months but that was more the norm then for the Badlands.

ok, Good to know. The dealer should be able to see the certificate number in their system. I do not have a certificate number in my hands. I was told by the dealer about 5 months wait but immediately started looking at this forum for insight and to keep me busy while waiting.

We ordered our '23 Badlands with Premium and 360+ packages on Oct. 20, 2022.
- We received a VIN in an e-mail from Ford on April 13, 2023.
- As of yesterday, June 18, 2023, the car finally shows as "Built" on Ford's tracker.
-We had called Ford Customer Service (they have always been very helpful) on June 16, 2023, and they told us then the car was built, and scheduled to arrive at the dealer July 5-11, 2023.

If the car does in fact arrive in early to mid-July, we will have waited 9 months from time of order.

Perhaps the first couple of months of delay were because Ford kept building 2022 models, and deferred starting the 2023's.

We ordered our 2023 Outer Banks on April 7. 2 weeks later got a build week scheduled (June 5). It got built that week then shipped via rail (or at least scheduled to ship). ETA is last week of June, although I'm expecting early July. Basically 2 months to get built, plus another month to ship.

If you order through the dealer rather than directly online, you can't see the order in your Ford.com account. The closest you get is occasional emails from Ford, and whatever info your dealer chooses to pass along.

I just got an email from Ford basically an equivalent to a Dear John letter that because of part shortage they have no idea when mine will get built and it’s been 8 weeks. But they get back to me every 45 days just to keep in touch. I really need a car so I’m shopping for something else.

Delivered on July 7, 2023 - almost 9 months after ordering. Our original quoted pricing was honored by Ford and the dealer.
