I know this was covered a while back but has anyone come up with a specific solution. My liftgate always unlocked as long as I have the key in my pocket. Then yesterday it stopped working. The window still unlocks but the liftgate does not. Any solutions would be appreciated.

press the liftgate button twice on the passive key fob to restore the liftgate passive entry feature functionality
Thank you. I'll give it a try and let you know.

UPDATE: It's working. Thanks for the input. It's one of the many reasons I enjoy and appreciate this Forum.

Good morning! Could you privately message us with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer so I can look into this liftgate concern? Thank you!

This issue comes and goes for me. I thought maybe it was related to whether I locked the doors with the key fob vs. touching the door handle top, but there’s no pattern to when the passive unlock works and when it doesn’t. If I unlock it with the fob, that doesn’t always reset it to working correctly.

It’s frustrating because it usually doesn’t work when I most want it to, and once in a while, if I just keep trying, it’ll eventually unlock with the handle. I wish there was a way to reliably have it working.

There seems to be no reliable way for the liftgate to always unlock correctly .. at some point for various reasons including the one in this SSM the liftgate stops unlocking as you described.

SSM 50452 2021-2022 Bronco Sport Liftgate Passive Entry Is Inoperative

Some 2021-2022 Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with passive entry system may experience a condition where the liftgate passive entry feature is inoperative. This may occur if the user inadvertently presses the liftgate button on the passive key fob once and then presses the exterior liftgate release switch, causing the liftgate passive entry feature to become inoperative. To correct this condition, press the liftgate button twice on the passive key fob to restore the liftgate passive entry feature functionality.

I've had this happened to me. Thanks to advice on this forum, I got it working. Try pressing the unlock on your key fob 2X. That usually resolves the problem. Let me know how it goes.

Hello, Chris! Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer. I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this liftgate concern. Thanks!
