Does your floor piece gap? I have the tow package and I had a full size spare, but when I switched up to my BFG Trail-Terrain TA 245/65R17, I got a 5th for the spare and I had a heck of a time getting it in the space. My floor piece gaps at the back, so either I got the wrong floor piece or perhaps these tires don't quite fit as well as the KO2s?

Not sure how hard you tried shoving it in but I’m fairly strong and close to 200 pounds and gave my spare one hell of a shove to fit in there. If you’re smaller, I’d try pulling the cover and crawling on your hands and knees over the spare and giving it all you’ve got to stuff it down further. It should fit bit there’s a chance the trail terrains have a larger diameter. At first I didn’t think mine would fit but after an audible squeak and what felt like a sizable drop mine fit right in there and I was able to put the “keeper nut” back on the threaded rod in the center and have the cover sit flush with no gap.

Take a pic. It should fit in there as Fir was saying. Could let some air out. Maybe it’s overinflated. Tire shops sometimes inflate them way above what you would normally run.

I'll try again tomorrow and see if I crawl on there if it will go down further! Thanks for the picture to show yours, I was like... I must have the odd ball car. Ha.

I did let some air out, but I'll check tire pressure tomorrow again and see if I can let more out. I wondered too if this piece (pic) might be in the wrong place in my car. It did not like the groove pattern in my tires. I didn't have any carpet or a pad other than those two small black pieces there that other people have mentioned removing.

You need to eat a few pizzas and try again!
