FYI all of you saying the little 1.5 Bronco is weak Well if you do your homework it has more horsepower than a 1977 350 cubic inch CORVETTE

That's quit a reach for a comparison.
It's apples and oranges.

The 1977 Corvette L48 has 180 HP and 270 Ft/lbs of torque, is quicker 0-60 and quicker in the 1/4 mile, has a higher top speed and weighs more than the 1.5 Bronco Sport. Depending on condition and options it can be also be worth more than the 1.5 BS.

Hp keeps you at speed, torque is the true measurement of power that gets you to speed, hence foot pounds, don't get me wrong the 1.5l engine is pretty good I have a 23 sport obx, but the 1.5l torque is no way close to any 350cu in motor

The 1.5 is pretty amazing. It's enough power for the car. Mpg is kinda weak, though.

Lol I know all I’m just saying look at the progress of technology. I had a 1977 vette. 2023 Big Bend 0 to 60 8.5 seconds 1977 vette 0to 60 8 seconds. Lol if I cut a better light at the starting line I could reach 60 mph before the vette. ?

I was reading there saying the big three are getting about 120hp per liter now which was unheard of except for super cars a decade ago but is becoming the standard

You also need to understand that was the mid 1970's and the EPA was in overdrive over emmissons, the L48 being the base engine was strangled.
180 HP at that time was actually pretty good In comparison to other manufactures or even it's brotheren the Camaro LT 350 with 170 HP.

Gotta thank that 8-speed trans for the 1.5 performance. Only on the highway at speed 70mph+ does the 1.5 feel a little weak. Don't get me wrong it will get going, but you have to kinda plan your passes. More than enough power for what I need it to do though. I'm happy with the MPG. On my last trip of over 1k miles over a couple of days I was calculating 27ish mpg at 78mph.

And everyone regards those neutered engines of the late 70s as weak. So, I really don't understand what point you are trying to make here.

Only you believe it. ? ?
My college days car was a 1955 Oldsmobile Super 88 Convertible. It had a 455 cubic inch engine that put out out 202 hp and did 0-60 in 10 seconds. I had a hole in the muffler that I couldn't afford to fix. If I saw a police car, I kept my foot off the accelerator. It also got about 5 miles per gallons but, what the hell, it was definitely a chick magnet and gas was 25 cents per gallon.

You must be around my age. I sold Mobil gas Regular for .25.9 and Mobil Premiun for .29.9.

How times have changed. I am 70 yo. And have had many 400-500&600 horsepower cars including a real 427 Shelby Cobra. The point I am making is it’s unbelievable how advanced things are now in the car world. Thnx for the reply. I will I had your convertible now lol lol lol
