Hopefully a silver lining for us. JUST got my letter from Ford "The Parts Are In " .. I'm calling now to set up an appointment. Hope it's not like the last recall I had on my 08 Jeep. I make the appointment, get there right on time and the service manager asks me " Do you have the part ? " I was like WTF ?!!?
Also had mine repaired in about an hour. I had left the car at the dealership and they delivered it to my house. Great customer service.
Does yours happen to have Copilot 360+? If it does you would have adaptive cruise control.
My car has been there since feb 10th and every week they tell me the part is still on back order with no ETA. How are you guys getting the part? what dealership is it? How do i get my hands on one Lol
Not sure I understand why they are holding onto your car. I was told it was safe to drive until the part and software became available. Is it simply the recall repair or were you having a more serious problem requiring immediate repair? My dealership is in North Carolina so I doubt that would help your situation.
They only are holding it cause nobody on all ends of the dealership can locate the part. Maybe one can be shipped from another dealership. IDK. It just seems like they aren't trying that hard at all and Im hoping to maybe reach out to your dealership to ship one over or even just get their opinion as they may have more info on why the fuel injector seems to be so scarce over here :/
Your car is not in the shop for just the recall work. The recall is not to replace injectors, it's to mitigate the likelihood of a fire should you experience a cracked injector.
Your problem is much more serious than the simple recall. I'm sorry I can't offer any advice other than keep after your service department. Have they at least given you a loaner to use while car is in the shop?my fuel injector was cracked and leaking. was that the same part they fixed for you in an hour? It blows fumes into my cabin while driving. So no good to drive
