Just purchased a used 2021 Badlands. It is missing a fastener (male snap) that should be attached to the back of rear seat (holds rear mats in place). Ford dealer tells me I have to replace seat back to get the snap I need! See picture attached. Need help!!

Do you have a picture? The snaps are hidden under a cover normally.

I don't think the fastener was set properly, go to a upholstery business/ body shop and see if they can actually set the snap on place. It should have been more bent. compare it to ones that are working.

I picked up my BSOB in February and didn't get the snaps snapped until May. The dealer actually told me not to try to attach them until we had a sunny day and the inside of the Bronco and mats were warm. I don't know if it's a bad fit and the mats have to be pliable enough to stretch, but I waited until it was nice an warm, and with a few choice words and a lot of sweat got them snapped in. I half expect they'll pull apart this winter.

Been through 1.5 winters and they’re still snapped on mine.
That's the problem with Ford. Five out of ten, or 9 out of 10 or any percentage they consider a success. If they sell 10,000 vehicles with a 90% reliability rating they say they've done a good job.
Unfortunately one out of ten of us doesn't agree.

I hear you; problems with a new vehicle are especially frustrating. But there's no such thing as perfection. I don't think it's fair to say Ford accepts a given percentage of defects. Anyone who experiences significant issues with a brand-new vehicle is not likely to be a repeat customer; it's illogical to think Ford doesn't understand this.

For what it's worth, Ford ranked above average in J.D. Power's vehicle dependability study, ahead of Honda and other much more expensive brands like Audi, Acura, Volvo, and Land Rover.
