I would call out and go to the dealer. I don’t trust them enough to leave a car sitting. JMO
I get what you are saying..I want to go too....but I also need to drag my wife down so we can drive 2 cars back.

they agreed, by text, that nobody will test drive the car.

I was just down there on Sunday and chatted with the salesman. Tho I didn't see my car that day, I was able to test drive a big Bronco Badlands in stick shift. apparently they had THREE exact same Badlands in Area 51 with no other options. I think they are having a little hard time finding people who would want these. I said if my car was really in a indefinite chip hold, I'd buy one of those.

I have to say the 2.3 300 HP in the Bronco drove much slower than an Explorer with the same motor. maybe it's the gearing....usually a manual tranny car can feel quick. so..i know it's off topic, anybody want a stick 4-door Badlands Bronco....

Couldn’t resist…chatted earlier with Ford hoping for some good news.

Mine was marked build 8/17 shipped on 08/20 with ETA September 7-14.

Couldn’t provide a rail car number …last status is 8/24 just across the boarder …

…the struggle is real…

I hate to ask because I’m sure it’s somewhere. But when can I ask about a rail car? Is it when it switches to “shipped” on the tracker.

Mine went to “In Transit” so fast I used FordChat the next morning to get it.

They have 4.7 gears in the Badlands with a stick. Not meant for speed. Meant for torque. Almost 100:1 in 4L and Crawl gear. Not fast and drinks gas, never meant to compete with a Mustang.

Mine seems to be slightly ahead of schedule too, but not by much - early phone tracing on the rail car said Missouri by 8/27, but just got there today. Now just needs to get up to Des Moines area - not sure the route it's going to take. One of the trackers mentioned Princeton, IN but that seems like it'd be wildly inefficient, but who knows
Did you order from Granger?

Mine went through Princeton, IN and is now at it’s final stop in Shelbyville, KY waiting to go the last 10 miles to the dealer by truck. Another waiting game. I thought I would see it on the dealer website in their inventory as already sold, hoping a few other BSs would be on there, too. If they have some coming that will go in their inventory they will be much more motivated to pick them up and bring mine along.

Princeton does seem like a strange place to go if you’re in Colorado. Maybe it was loaded on a truck in St. Louis or earlier? My train car is now well past where it dropped off my BS, I’m assuming they threw some F-150s on there after they unloaded the Mavericks and BSs and kept chugging down the road.

Edit: Just looked at the Open Railway map and considered the path mine took to get to Louisville. I bet yours was taken off the train when mine hit the panhandle of Oklahoma or around those parts. Are you able to check with the trucking company? Also, FordChat is a little behind on exact train location, but it had mine in Madison, Illinois today and it hasn’t been there since Tuesday I believe (not long before Princeton, IN). they should be able to tell you if it is off the train already If you hop on there really quickly before 8:00.

Ugh….Sunday will be 45 days since my last crappy email from Ford! Hopefully the next email I get will be that it is finally built and I can get out of purgatory! I think there are only 3 of us left on the list. Hoping for all of us to get good news this weekend!

I did order from Granger.

So, despite actually living in Denver, I have friends/family in Des Moines, so for the deal they were able to make me and their reputation, it was well worth (and easy) making a trip out of it.

Phone tracing had my rail car arriving in Kansas City, MO last night around midnight. NS has been giving the most detail with CSX giving nothing and UP had some sparse details. UP used to mention Princeton, IN but doesn't anymore; now it just says Missouri. So, hopefully it's just shooting straight up to Des Moines from there soon.
