My Badlands with the standard 225/65R17 tires is currently in production.

I intend to buy a set of winter tires with dedicated rims.

I’ve put Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2s on my 2019 Escape Titanium’s 19” OEM rims the past three winters and they were excellent. However, having to mount and dismount tires Isn’t ideal. Plus, I want to avoid damage.

I have no experience buying wheels.

Can anyone recommend a suitable wheel and tire package for my Badlands?

I’ve used both Tirerack and Discount Tire to order complete packages with TPMS sensors installed as well as mounted and balanced.

I’ve had great luck with the General Artic something or other

i know Tirerack has a dedicated Winter Tire link.

I've ordered four sets of winter wheels and tires from Tirerack. My wife had two sets of Bridgestone Blizzaks. I''ve had two sets of Michelin X-ICE Xi3. Very pleased with both.

First sets of wheels were BBS VZ. Second sets were Sport Edition F12. Simple wheels. Easy to keep free of snow and ice.

Debating if i want to buy winter tires for my '22 Escape that was delivered in May. Don't have to drive much in winter. Will get a better AS tire when I wear out my stock tires. One that tested well in snow. Something line the Continental CrossContact LX 25 on the '14 Escape my wife is driving until her BS is built.

Thanks for responding!

Do I need to be concerned about wheel offset? Should it be kept as close to OEM as possible?

The tirerack choices should be an o.k. offset. Offset is in mm, so off by a few is o.k. It's 25.4 mm per inch.

A choice is wheel size. I had 19s stock on my '14 Escape Ti. I went -2 to 17s for winter. Softer ride and more sidewall for potholes. 17s are cheaper, too.

But. BS comes with good sidewall stock. So, it's really not an issue for us in here.

My wife's BL will come with AT. Don't think I'll get her winters, though.

Winter tires are a a softer compound. Better than AT. But, as mentioned. AT in winter should be o.k. for us now.

Recommended that winters are put on after temperature highs are only 45 for best tire wear.

Oh ... what is the winter consumer rating and comments at Tirerack for the Pirelli AT we'll both be getting with the BL? Will probably convince me that snows aren't necessary.

I just looked at the tread of the tires I think we're getting. Not going to get snows. May consider an AS/AT with the 3PMS (3-peak mountain snowflake symbol) when I replace them.
