I have the Outer Banks and love it. It is the right vehicle for me. But I think your explanation makes it clear that it is time for you to move to the Badlands because towing and off-roading are its strengths.

I must admit that I’m suspicious of the price difference being only $2000 but I can tell you on resale, the 22 BL will be worth a lot more.
Price is similar since I want ”all“ the crap in the OB but if I go with BL I would just do barebones and downgrade the interior.

I have the "downgrade" and it's not a sacrifice. No 360+ uniquecloth seats, did get the bronco mats set but it's a nice vehicle. Seats clean super easy. Fwiw if you tow a motorcycle or small trailer I don't think the Badlands is a significant need. Trust your gut, can't go wrong with either option.

Man, after checking a thread on floor mats I forgot one of the big deciding factors is the BL has rubber floors while the OB is carpeted. In my case I think it’s going to make the car far easier to clean. Dog hair sticks to everything. Plus rubber floor mats will be in all the time anyways to protect carpet. So why not. But. If someone orders a BL & doesn’t realize it comes with rubber floors, it might be a surprise when there’s no carpet.

They come with carpeted floor mats that were quickly put into the “carpeted floor mat storage bin”. They work, but what’s the point? I bought the Ford Liners to protect the rubber floor from wear and for quick dumps of dirt and sand.

I think it all depends on your use case. I wanted more off road ruggedness and was willing to for go the luxury for that plus the 2.0. I don’t think you could go wrong no matter which way you go.

I was surprised to see that too in a pic my sales guy sent, the carpeted floor mats come when you don’t even order them. Yet funny as it is, mine go in a cupboard in the garage to never be seen again, yet maybe this time with the rubber floor, I might just pull out the carpeted mats & actually make use of them once the mud & slush season has passed. But yes even with the rubber floor I agree, the liners (whichever ones you choose, I bought the Ford ones as well) are a necessity for dumping out.

Are order banks still open?
I am thinking that exact same thing. I’m pretty sure you can’t even order a 22 BS any longer, or that day is coming real soon if it isn’t past already. The MY23 order bank opens on August 1, according to one post on here.

I reached out to Granger Ford to see. I’m guessing it will be open for another week or two. The orders normally tail off at the end anyways because most people don’t want to loose a year. But, given all the weirdness of what is going on, who knows.

What are you going to use it for? Mine is an OB with Tow & Cargo Mat as only "options". Perfect for me. Totally surprised with capabilities of the 1.5L/181 HP. I live in flat land, & rarely off road (beach).
Thought I miss 360+, but I really don't. Have CarPlay & iPh for any Nav needs.
Really like leather heated steering wheel, heated seats, rain sensitive wipers, lift gate release, ambient cupholder lighting.
Basically get what YOU want.
