It's part # KN1Z19A361A
https://accessories.ford.com/products/ford-perimeter-plus-vehicle-security-system-20
The part number on the module itself is KN1J-19G367-AA which is how I found the one I got from ebay. I believe the first number is the kit that includes the module, the wiring harness, and misc parts.

Managed to get one where the box had been opened but the individual bags inside were still sealed off ebay for $95. MSRP is $215. Didn't specifically list for a bronco sport as the same module is used on multiple vehicles.
It is *almost* a completely plug and play solution. I say almost because I did have to take the knee bolster panel off to be able to get to the frame and mount the sensor.

On my 2022 Big Bend I don't have remote start (except via fordpass app, which is really slow, but nearly unlimited range). This module added remote start via doing a lock-unlock-lock press on the fob. It also adds a shock sensor for detecting impacts. They claim glass breakage, but some of the tools used to break windows don't seem to do much shock to the rest of the vehicle. But maybe if someone tries getting under it to steal a catalytic converter or gas it'll let me know someones messing with it (but only via the horn, not a remote alert).

Once the module is mounted, you just have to disconnect the cable to the gateway module (which is where the OBDII connector is) then plug in the harness that comes with the VSS in between the module and the that existng cable. The harness then has a smaller cable and plug that goes to the VSS module.

Here's the existing cable unplugged from the gateway module. You can see the OBDII connector on the left lower side of it:

VSS Harness plugged in. Existing cable connected to the top portion, other side of harness going in to gateway module:

Headlight switch and knee bolster panel removed for easier access. I also removed the side panel, which I'm pretty sure I didn't need to do. Getting that side panel back on is fun because of the way the weather stripping sandwiches it.

By the way, anyone know what that orange pull tab is? Behind it is a cable that appears to go in to a large plastic box and possibly the firewall... Ejection seat? The knee bolster panel has a small door over it so it can be reached without removing the panel:

The knee bolster panel is held in with body clips. Be careful when removing though, I broke one :(

Here's where I mounted the VSS module. It's just below where the headlight switch mounts. It's zip-tied to the metal frame.

Not seen in this photo is the small jumper you have to add (that it comes with) to enable basic remote start via this module. For vehicles that don't already remote start this jumper needs to be plugged in to enable the feature.
It was a bit of fun getting the zip ties in.. Several cuts on the hands from sharp plastic.

Once it was all connected, all I had to do was learn the VSS to the vehicle, which was just turning the ignition on then off and letting it sit for 3 seconds, after which it locked then unlocked the doors on it's own. You then adjust the sensitivity of the shock sensor with the knob on the module making sure it alerts with a moderate shock and alarms with a stronger one. The steps in the install manual for activating didn't need to be done. I'm not sure how they would have been done actually, as it wants you to press and hold the brake pedal then cycle the ignition 6 times... with a push button start vehicle that seems, problematic.

I didn't do the security indicator light yet, may or may not do that, not sure if anyone pays attention to them any more.

There is an extended range antenna add on for the module that's a simple mount on the windshield then plug it in to the port on the VSS:

I think that antenna only works with the dedicated remote start key fobs though, like:
https://accessories.ford.com/products/remote-start-system-long-range-w-confirmation-key-fob
and not with the stock key fob.. But I don't have confirmation on that.

A lot of Good Info Thanks for taking the time to do this write-up.

Without going to the Manual IIRC it's the parking brake release Overide pull cord.
If for some reason your battery goes dead and the parking brake engages
this allows the brake to let go for towing purposes. (I think that was the story)

Aside from all of that OP there's this vid
Seems like with all the circuitry you've opened up you'd be the first one to call bullshit or not
Says this perimeter module is already in place and just needs to be activated

Ah-ha! That makes sense. Thanks.

Yeah I saw that video. That was not the case on my BS, the module was not already installed.
It did have the standard perimeter alarm.

According to Ford:
The perimeter alarm is a deterrent against unauthorized access to your vehicle through the doors and the hood. It also protects the audio unit.
If the alarm is triggered, the alarm horn will sound and the hazard warning flasher will flash.

In other words its a very basic system that will only honk/flash if someone opens a door or the hood. If they smash a window and grab contents without ever opening the door it won't go off. If the Plus system's shock sensor is set high enough, it should go off in that case from them breaking the window and/or rocking the vehicle reaching in.

Because the basic perimeter alarm has a hood sensor already, an extra one is not needed for adding the Plus system to the BS. But some other vehicles may require that additional piece.

I also saw a video claiming the basic perimeter alarm had sensors where if the windows are down and someone reaches in when it's armed it would go off. That's not the case with mine and I'd bet not the case with the majority of factory alarms out there. Some after market alarms have proximity sensors that can detect if someone is in the car, but those are also the ones that if you get too close they will beep or tell the person to get away, and lead to people messing with your car to get it to go off :) And frequently (or at least used to) go off on their own because a bird landed on it or a ghost farted near it or something.

Yeah, ain't it
Need a Forscanner to confirm
Scanners report in
Come in scanners
Over
I have forscan... What are we confirming, that they claim a module is already there?
I confirm via eyeballing everything up in there and in forscan, it was not already installed :D

I pulled the post
It seemed I might be muddying up your thread OP
A solid job on the install I might add

If it makes the OP feel better, I broke one of those tabs while removing the panel to cut a hole for my light switches. Very flimsy.

As a former technical writer--or someone who wrote a lot of stuff that no one ever reads--this really hurts...
It paid the same, whether anyone read it or not.
